My only question is if you let your students continue to do assignments on the same book to eventually get 100 points, or if they can only choose assignments up to 100 points, regardless of what they get on each part.

Hello, I just bought the .."And the Winner is" book report. I think it is very creative, however, I noticed some spelling errors. Can you either fix the spelling errors so I can download it with no errors or email it to me in a different program so I can fix the mistakes myself? Otherwise, I will have to retype the entire project and I coud've just done that on my own to begin with. Errors: 1. There needs to be a comma after "For your project, " 2. There needs to be a comma after "After you create your movie, " 3. "For there movies" should be written- For their movies 4. "from your movie " should be written "for your movie" 5. "Draw, cup, and paste" should be written: Draw, cut and paste 6. "and include who write the book" should be written: and include who wrote the book Please let me know what you decide to do - either email it to me in a program where I could fix it or fix the changes. I really do not want to leave poor feedback. Thanks so much!

Thank you for letting me know. The file you downloaded was in fact the wrong file. I had no idea from my thumbnails that the correct one was not in use. The fixes you mentioned were all corrected (as well as a few things about graphic novels and animated films based on my students feedback and work) before I placed this up a few years ago and clearly the wrong file got added. I have corrected the problem and switched the font to make sure it was correct in the thumbnails. I can email the correct Pdf if you can not download it from TPT. I am not sure if you can without paying for it again and I do not want that to happen. I would just need a correct mail. Thanks again.

Create a cover page for each of your products which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers even if that resource is only one page long. You are competing with over 32,000 sellers so you want your products to stand out. You might also add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page for the teacher. (How do use this? Why? Etc.) List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.
Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Here is how you do that. Use the insert and go to the right. You should see symbols there. Insert the copyright symbol, your name and date. It should look something like this: © V. Rauch (Scipi), 2011 Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also number your pages.
It is important that we see what others are doing; so, feel free to look at any or all of my freebies listed below to gather some ideas.

The project only has projects that go up to 40 points. The goal for the students is to do enough work to equal 100 points. So you got the whole thing if you has projects for 5,10, 20, 30 & 40 points. They pick a variety and earn the 100 points as a total. I am sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I have been without a computer and internet for over a week.

I am good. I am glad you liked the 100 point thing. I can not find the rubrics I made...but I am planning on creating new ones...All I did was develop a generic one for each level and write notes to the kids explaining why I took off points. Where are you teaching>

I think this is a great idea. Do you ever let students attempt more than 100 points total? I was not thinking of bonus points necessarily, but more like insurance if they didn't earn full points on a particular task.

I do allow bonus point work. I divide the bouns points they earn by 5 (it has been awhile but that sounds right) and add it into therei grade. Several students use this at the end of the trimester to boost thiere grades.

I did create seperate rubrics for each seperate item...I need to recreate them because they got erased form my school computer before I saved them to my files. I found that my students liked seeing why I picked the grade I gave..also I saved them and cut and pasted them so each student had an individualized grade sheet in the end...Hopefully I will get around to recreating the rubrics. I have not sued the project in the last 2 years because of others things I tried out.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I currently teach in a Middle School in Glendale Heights, Illinois. I have worked with students from all ability levels and ethnic backgrounds. For the last 4 years I have been working with 8th graders only teaching English and Social Studies. This year I created and taught an Introduction to Speech and Drama class as well. During my teaching I have worked with many different styles of teaching and had my schedule for teaching change often. Currently I teach 4 hour long classes and 2 half hour classes (one a study hall and one a book club for reading) I also direct the school plays and musicals having put up successful productions of All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, Krazy Kamp and This is a Test. I also lead the Drama Club in fun Improv games and drama exercises each week. Recently the students performed a play I wrote for them, Caffeine Chaos.
MY TEACHING STYLE
Carefree and fun. I like to offer my students options whenever possible for projects. While I find quality tools in my textbooks I tend to veer away from the book often. I am working on having a much more student-center classroom. My students make a lot of the choices about what they learn. This year my English classes are using workshop time daily. I have an openng activity, a mini-lesson and than workshop time. Students are learning alot about time management during this time. I am getting a lot of time to work with small groups and re-teaching loops.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
Having my students put so much work into the play I wrote for them was the best honor I could have recieved. The Chocolate Moon Goddess Cafe is my shining star teacher moment. Each year I run the cafe for one day and one day only..it is a special poetry reading day that I have got nothing, but amazing feedback on form students and staff.
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I have a BA in Elementary Education from Elmhurst College (2000), with endorsements in Language Arts, Social Science and Middle School. I have a Master's in English Studies also from Elmhurst College (2004). I take part in at least one workshop each year outside of my district in order to experience what is new in the world of education.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I love creating new ideas and plans for my students. I think the best thing I can do is learn from them so I often am asking them about how they learn and what they would like to do before creating lessons.
