I have been teaching for four years. My degree is in Physical Education and I loved teaching health in a classroom so much that I tested out and now teach Family and Consumer Science, which is definitely where I should have been in the beginning. I have always been that teacher who gave a test in PE or that teacher who makes my own tests and worksheets because I do not think textbooks challenge students for the real world.
I teach six different preps which change at semester, so I teach by using hands on, book work, group work, and everything in between. I have been known to stand on a chair to get a point across about fiber and decorate my room similar to those in the lower grades. Something is always hanging from my ceiling and color is never left out from my room. My room is the sanctuary for all of those (teachers and students alike) to come and be inspired.

I teach life. I teach how to live it and, hopefully, how to keep it on the track of the Golden Rule. I teach grades 8-12 and six different subjects (which change at semester.) I teach about health, relationships, family living, parenthood, careers, leadership, nutrition, wellness, and overall being a productive member of society.
