I have taught third grade in Indiana for eight fabulous years. Reading and writing are my favorite subjects, but I love creating hands-on math lessons too. I strive to inspire my students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners. Teaching is so much fun!
I use a guided reading and writing approach to literacy instruction, combined with individualized word study. I also use interactive math lessons and centers. My philosophy: Students learn best when they are actively involved in their learning!
During the last presidential election, one of my students campaigned for me to be president instead. I kept the picture he made of me in the White House as proof. That's a pretty big honor. ;)
I am a proud 2004 summa cum laude graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I majored in elementary education and minored in counseling psychology. Since then, I've completed my master's degree and earned my All-Grades Reading Specialist License through Ball State too.
I use all of these items in our classroom, so I hope they work for you too. If you have any questions or want further explanation of a particular product, please don't hesitate to ask. I want you to love them as much as I do! I'm happy to help. =)
