Hi! I just purchased your math "I Can" statements for Grade 3. I printed the first few pages and discovered that the statements are in a Portrait Layout, instead of the Landscape layout I thought your picture showed. I do get 2 to a page, but I have almost half the page of just blank space.
Is there a way I can change the layout? Do you have it set up in a portrait layout and your picture just doesn't show it?
Please help me, because the statements are a little smaller than I thought I would get.

My PDF is set up in Landscape Layout. You should get 2 to a page, but it should take up the entire page. You should not have half a page blank. That sounds like a technology issue and I am not sure what to suggest without being there with you seeing what you see! Maybe you have it accidentally set to print 2 sheets to a page?? If the problem persists, I would recommend asking the tech department at TPT what they suggest.

Was going to give you feedback but when I clicked on ratings and comments there was someone elses' comment but no rating scale, etc. Oh well. I think this is an ingenious idea and I wish I had thought of it! I intend to use it starting tomorrow! What is the incentive you give them for not using their card at all during the month? I have grade 3s and gosh darn, don't they "have to go" a lot! Sheesh! :-)

We have punch cards in our school as a part of PBS (Positive Behavior System) and we also have a school store. Each punch on the punch card is worth 10 cents in the store. If my students don't use any of their passes, I give them 2 punches (usually more, but I only tell them they will get 2!) If they use less than half, then they get one punch. I have a lot of students that get punches, but I also have a lot that use all of their passes. But, they don't go all the time because they only get 10! It really is a great system! I hope it works for you :)

For the most part, they are used to enhance cover sheets for products. However, I also use them as backgrounds on my phone and iPad! They look awesome. Digital background can also be used for digital scrap booking, but I don't personally know anything about that! I hope this helps and I'm glad you like them!

We are required to post the common core standard we are currently teaching. It is very time consuming to write these on the board each time. I have been thinking about typing them all up and making them into sentence strip type and posting them. Just haven't done it. If I am not mistaken this is exactly what you have done correct? If so before I laminate them I could write the CC number on the back. Am I correct that this is what you have done.....typed up the objective so the student understands, but they ARE straight from CC?

I found the statements on a website that had broken down the common core. So, yes they are based directly on the common core. I have been meaning to update them with the codes, but I haven't had time! But, you could write them on the back before you laminate them!

These are the math practice statements that everyone must use!! The common core has a huge problem solving basis that needs to be in place along with the concept standards! So, everyone can use these and it does clarify in the description that these are the practice standards.

These are from the new common core... Essentially they are the "teacher" statements written in a more kid-friendly language. That way the kids can understand what they are supposed to be able to do by the end of the lessons.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for 19 years. I was a middle school math and science teacher for the first 18 and I just recently made the change to 5th grade.
