So sorry to hear you were disappointed. My intent was to build on the standards that lend themselves easily to tape diagrams. Instead of starting with tape diagrams in elementary, I started the progression in 4th grade, moved on to 5th, then finished with 6th and 7th grade. Again, I followed the progression suggested by common core which included an introductory to tape diagrams from earlier grades so students can then build on their understanding of problem solving to more complex problems through the use of tape diagrams.

My students and I loved this activity! The robots were very well made, and some of them proved challenging for 6th grade honors students. I didn't find the cut-out parts very useful, but a colleague of mine walked in during one of my classes and suggested a "make-your-own-robot" station.

I understand your note wanting to reveal your developed ideas, but if your strategies are not what I am looking for, then I have wasted my money. This is just what I was looking for... I noticed this was for quarter 1... will there be a quarter two. I am doing number talks right now with my 5th grade class and I noticed some of the strategies I am teaching are missing... do you think you will ever add them all or could you??? I would totally pay for them. I have the problems from the book... I would really be interested posters that I could print out for my wall and for my kids journals as a resource for them... just a though :)

I have been told that when it is a pdf, you can specify the size of the print out. I tried printing both 8 1/2 by 11 and 11 by 17 and ours at work did it both ways. So, to answer you question, you should be able to specify the print size of the print job. I just tried it here at home and I printed 8 1/2 by 11.
