Hi, I was able to open the PDF but not the labels. Do you have any ideas for me? I am using a mac but have microsoft word/publishing so I thought it would be fine. It says the file is blocked from opening. Thanks, Karen

Hmmmm? I have opened the file and everything is fine. If you have Microsoft Publisher then I am not sure why you can't open the file. Try deleting the file and downloading it again - sometimes that does the trick. If not contact TPT support (their link is at the bottom of the home page) - they will be able to help you and they are really good at getting back to you quickly. I am so sorry you are having trouble - I know it can be frustrating. Let me know if I can be of further help.

July 3, 2014 Report inappropriate comment
Natalie's Nook
Natalie's Nook  (TpT Seller)
When you downloaded the bundle - you got 2 files. One file is a PDF and these are the labels for the book bins. Print these in cardstock and laminate. Cut them apart and stick them on the front of the book bins. The other file you got was a PowerPoint publisher file. These are for the actual books and are printed on the small labels. These are printed one page at a time. Click on the label you want - one label will show up but when you click print you will see a full page of that label. You will print 30 labels per page. I know you probably don't need 30 labels but there is no other way to print these. I just keep the extras in plastic sleeves in a binder for future use. Hopefully that helps :)
Cheers,

What you see in the picture are the labels for the reading boxes. There are 6 different themes per page. Print those on to cardstock and laminate. They are a good size. That is the pdf file. I also included a Microsoft Publisher file and those you print on the labels pages. They are adhesive and much smaller. You will get 30 of the same label when you print them. Stick those on the books. The labels match the book bin labels so the kids know where to put the books away. Does that help?

I am more than happy to change the background. I can't send you a file that has the background editable because I have no way to secure the graphics and that would break my agreement with the graphic artists. I can only make the "text" editable. Would you like them to all have the same background (with all those colours in it) or were you wanting a mixture (solid orange, solid lime green etc). Cate D. re: My Personal Dictionary {Essential Vocabulary For Every Writer}
I was curious how you use this all year long in your classroom with your word wall. I assume you give your students the complete dictionary at the beginning of the year but your word wall may not have as many words yet, or as the year goes on you take the words they master down. How do you introduce and integrate this with your word wall activities to keep it engaging so kids are using it (or both)?
May 23, 2014 Report inappropriate comment
Natalie's Nook
Natalie's Nook  (TpT Seller)
Hi Cate,
Yes, I give the students the complete dictionary at the beginning of the year. Even though I only introduce 5 new word wall words a week. The kids need many of the words in the dictionary when writing beginning in September. I like the dictionary because it has a variety of words not just word wall words. I use my program "Teaching Your Little Monkeys To Use the Word Wall" as my word wall program and I think is goes nicely with the dictionary. I gradually increase my expectations, with regards to correct spelling, as the children master sight words. In the dictionary I have also given you the option of blank alphabet charts. You could copy these instead and have the kids add the words as you introduce them on the word wall. It's another option:) I also like that the dictionary acts as a portable word wall. The kids can take it with them - to another class to work with a helper or home to finish up writing - it encourages them to use the correct spelling of these crucial words. I hope this helps:)

Hi Moira;
Wow - how exciting! You will always remember your first class!
Thank you for the sweet compliment - you made my day! I also teach a 1/2 split so all my resources are geared for that age group. If you are teaching regrouping then I would start with addition. My unit "Aar You Ready to Learn Addition with Regrouping?" will walk you and your students through baby steps to learn how to regroup. I guarantee success! You will be amazed at how easy it is! From there move on to subtraction. My unit "Subtraction Safari" again will walk you through small steps to learn how to regroup. Easy peasy! If time permits I then follow up these two units with my unit "Wild About Regrouping" as it is a combination of both addition and subtraction and it helps to consolidate both skills. My home email is on the last page of my units - please contact me directly if you have any questions. It is my pleasure to help:) Good luck - you'll do great!

I am doing my very best to align the activities to Words Their Way. I am using the program in my classroom and am adding to these bundles as I go. I will be adding long and short vowel sorts but TPT is having major technical glitches and I can't get anything to upload. If you would like to purchase the unit during the sale you have my word that I will add whatever else you would like to see added. My home email is on the last page of the unit so we can communicate that way. I would love to hear your suggestions! I look forward to hearing from you.
Bye for now,
Natalie

Hi! I love your products and have purchased many of them.
They are always creative, visually appealing, usually perfect for 2nd grade and of excellent quality.
Do you have, or could you make : math products with 3 digit subtraction with and without regrouping, and math products with arrays and introduction to multiplication concepts?

Hi Jean,
Thank you so much for your sweet compliments! You made my day! I do have a couple of products in my store already that might meet your needs:
(1) Clowning Around with Regrouping (3-Digit Subtraction)
(2) Get the Scoop on Multiplication
(3) We Are Going to A Division BBQ.
Hope that helps!
Have a great day!

I just purchased your Communities around the world, I can't wait to use it! I know there are 11 countries in this set, do you have any plans to add more individual countries? Or possibly create a 2nd set with several new countries? I just LOVE what you have done, it is wonderful!

Hi there,
So happy to hear that you like the unit! It is a huge hit with my kiddos every year. I am not sure if I will be adding to the unit - it will depend on whether or not I can get more clip art. Most of the graphics are from Melonheadz and I have included all the countries she had graphics for. Italy has been requested quite a bit but right now I don't have any graphics.
Sorry I can't be more certain.

Hi Kimberly,
Well that's frustrating! I assure you that there is nothing wrong with the file but this sort of thing happens once in awhile. You have tried everything I would have suggested and it usually works. Are you using the most up to date version of Adobe? Contact TPT immediately (their link is at the bottom of the home page) and they will rectify the situation for you. They are great about getting back to you quickly.
Sorry you are having trouble. I know your kids will love the unit!

Hi Natalie, I love your style and your products. I had downloaded a volunteer thank you flower from your store maybe 2 years ago? I have searched and cannot find it anywhere! Do you still have that somewhere to download? Thank you!

Hi there,
Thank you for the compliment - you're so sweet:) I took that file down because I didn't feel it represented my work:( Unfortunately I would have offered to send it to you but it looks like I deleted the entire file. I am so sorry that I can't help you.

Hi Natalie, sorry, I wrote my question under the Get the Scoop Multiplication unit and thought they'd be connected. I've gone through a few more and hopefully I'm the one not understanding...
When I look at the centres in the first grouping, Here's the Scoop, Chocolate Ice Cream, One Scoop or Two, and Lickety Split, I'm confused between the number of cards there are to match up (match the multiplication sentence to the groups of and the picture) and the number of matches to be made on the cut and paste sheets. For example, the chocolate covered ice cream centre has 9 sets of cards to match up, but only 4 for the cut and paste activity that matches it. The One scoop or 2 has 10 sets of cards but only 4 in the matching activity. The Lickety Split has 12 sets of cards to match up but only 3 on the activity page and the Here's the scoop has 9 sets of cards with only 4 cut and paste questions on the activity pages. I haven't gone through the second week of activities yet. It looks to me like cut and paste pages are missing, but it could be a brain malfunction on my part. My email is nbiniaris@hpedsb.on.ca if that makes things easier. Thanks so much!

Oh Nikki! Please forgive my stupidity!!!!! I was looking at the wrong unit! All I can say is that it has been a very long week...lol!
Now to address your original question.
I found that it was very time consuming for the kids to match all the cards and then complete the cut and paste activity. That is why the cut and paste follow-up activity is shorter. Does that make sense? Does this work for you or do you want all the cards included in the cut and paste follow-up? If you do I could work on making them for you but I will need a couple of days to get them done. Let me know!
Thanks!

Nikki B. re: Get The Scoop On Multiplication - 10 Math Centers
I have a question about the One Scoop or Two centre.... I have 1 page of cut outs and one page to paste on, but there are an awful lot of left over cards. Are there supposed to be more pages for this centre? Thanks. ~Nikki

Hi Nikki,
Okay I might be being daft but I don't know which center you are referring to. I don't have a center called One Scoop or Two. Are you referring to the fraction sundae? If so, you are to copy the scoops onto different coloured paper and then the kids pick 12 "scoops" to make their sundae. You might have extra pieces so just tuck them away for next year. If I am not talking about the right center please email me again...lol!

Hi Natalie. I just purchased your "aar You Ready to Learn Addition with regrouping?" packet. I love it!
I do have a question though. On some of the charts you circle the number in the ones place and move the tens place over, but on most of the other things in it you circle the tens place that you move? Is there a reason for this difference or is it a typo that can be fixed. I was just not sure.

Thanks!

Hi Terri,
I am so happy to hear that you like the unit! After looking through the pages I think you are referring to the examples on pages 13 & 14. I agree that it looked different from how I suggested so I have altered those pages (and the tracking sheet). I have the kids circle the number in the tens place and carry it over. Then they underline the number in the ones place that is going to stay there. Does that make sense...lol?! I have uploaded the revised copy so just download it again to get those changes. Let me know if I missed anything.
