I am incredibly disappointed in the quality of the Gingerbread Story Elements packet. By reading the description, I assumed there would be different story element activities for each story. After purchasing the packet, I realized that the pages for second grade were not story specific and there were only two of them. I hate to complain, but I spent $6 on a packet that I can only use two pages of and must still create additional materials to use with the other stories. I've never complained or not been satisfied with any of my TPT purchases before, so I'm not sure what the protocol is. I haven't left a rating for this product yet because I wanted to contact you first.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you are not pleased. The description stated that there were differentiated graphic organizers, gingerbread outlines for illustrations, and blank graphic organizers to use with a different copy of the gingerbread story. I taught gifted second for seven years and used the exact items in the packet with my class. I copied the two organizers for second grade, front and back, and they completed the organizers for each of the stories I chose. Then, the students illustrated the gingerbread character. When my unit was complete, I compiled all of their organizers and illustrations….along with other gingerbread activities we completed…. to create a book. I apologize if you expected something other than what the description stated. You are my first dissatisfied customer with the packet. The only thing I can do is tell you to contact TPT. I saw your precious gingerbread pirate ship and thought it would be sooo cute to have the ar ship, the er ship, etc.. and have children sort words for the ships. I did not have a certain book in mind...actually I ran out of time to do this activity due to our Spring Break. My thought was to do one of the following: get some nonfiction books from the media center for them to read during their center, watch a video on United Streaming about Easter, or have them go to specific websites to read information. If you have upper grades, they can research the answers on the internet. Just a few thought! I hope this helped! :)

OMGoodness.! Thank you so much for letting me know about the missing blocks. When I looked back at the original game, the blocks were there but I had some problems converting the game into a PDF file. The file was so large and certain items kept being left off when it converted. I finally had to get one of our tech people at school to help me get it converted. Apparently that was something that was left off during the conversion. I made the change and it is on page 9….just so you don’t have to reprint everything. Thank you so much for letting me know about the error. I hope this was not something that messed up your lesson.
