(I normally write the word list (included in the product) on the board so they can then fill in any words they choose in the spaces provided.) - what do you mean they can fill in any words they choose? where?
are letters called out like in real bingo and they mark a square? when do they get bingo?
Thx

In the product and item description, there is a list of words related to the topic. You can then list those words on the board. Make a copy of the BINGO board provided in the product for each student. The students choose from the listed words and write some of them in the squares provided on the BINGO board. They may place the words in whichever square they wish, resulting in each student having a unique board. You then call out the definitions of the words (not the words themselves). When students have 5 in a row (up, down, or diagonal), they call out BINGO.

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Nicole Hays

Thank you for your inquiry!

1) Give the students the Bingo board which can be printed through this product. I normally write the word list (included in the product) on the board so they can then fill in any words they choose in the spaces provided.
2) The “Science Space” is the free space.
3) You can give students pieces of paper or pennies to mark their spots. You can also have them mark the box with a different symbol for each round. This can save you a lot of clean up!
Ex: 1st round- X in upper left hand corner
2nd round- O in upper right hand corner
3rd round – Star in lower right hand corner
4th round – Smiley Face in lower left hand corner
5th round- X through entire square
4) You then read the definition aloud. These definitions are included in the product for the teacher's use. Do not read the word. The students then must determine the word being described and mark their boards.
5) When a student has a Bingo, have them call it out. I then used to ask if there were any other Bingo winners. I would accept any that were called at this time. Then have the students read the words that they have marked. As they say each word, reiterate the definition so that they students can hear it as often as possible
6) Any students who call Bingo after the words have started to be read by fellow classmates do not win.

I hope that this is helpful.

robwright50 re: Bill Nye Phases of Matter Video Questions
Hello. I bought two video questions from you today. I bought the Earth's crust first and then bought the phases second. I am very upset that there are only 12 questions on the phases. I would like a refund. The Earth one was so good, I assumed you would at least have put 20 on there.

Thanks

Rob,

The number of questions in the worksheet is clearly listed as the 2nd word in the description. You may request a refund from teachers pay teachers if you wish. I would approve it. However, in the future, please take the time to read the item description before making a purchase.

I just purchased this lesson but the links do not work as the project states. I have had to rewrite the first lesson. The second link directs to the site, but it won't download the maps. So far, this has been a waste of money. I am disappointed as I was looking forward to using this in the next few weeks.

Dear Christine,

I have just checked the links for the two lessons.
1) All links for the first lesson seems to work correctly. Try copying the URL and pasting it. For some browsers that works better than just clicking on it. If you can give me more details about your difficulty, I may be able to assist you.
2) For the second website, I have contacted the web administrator to see when they anticipate having the maps download working again. They may just have it down for maintenance. If they will not have the site up in the next few days, is there an email address to which I might send an alternate version of the activity, based on their historical maps (which are still downloading)?
Thanks so much!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Nicole has taught for taught for 6 years in the public schools. Enriching her students lives through the study of General Science, Geophysical Science, Biology, and Physics has given her an understanding of common pitfalls that students face and how best to handle them. She is also an adjunct instructor at a local University in their Science Department.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Through the use of hands-on teaching and brain-based learning, students are able to come to their own understanding of the material. Nicole also believes that the Internet is a powerful tool and that web-based simulations can be invaluable in assisting students in their understanding. Nicole has also worked to provide a vast array of science video questions. Having students take notes during a video increases their retention from the video and gives them something to take home and study. Through creating fill-in-the-blank video note guides, students can get comprehensive notes to take home while having enough time to both appreciate the video and get the notes.
