Darlene Orr  (TpT Seller) re: St. Patrick's Day Emergent Reader: Shamrock Color Words
Hello Nicolette and Karen,

I wanted to let you know that there is a mistake on the first page for the color red. Instead of saying, "No, it's red." It says "Yes, it's red."
I used this today and my Prek's loved it!
I do have a suggestion: My Preks just turned 4, so it would be easier for them to read if the book does not use the contraction "it's" but uses the words "it is", such as, "No, it is blue" instead of "No, it's blue."
Thank you. I love the book and it was so easy to print out and cut, ready to use.

Hi Darlene!

I'm off to fix it the red page now. Thanks so much for pointing it out to us. Great point about the contraction. I will keep that in mind for future books. Please pick any item in our shop for your trouble. I hope it didn't trip the kids up too much.

I'll let you know when the new and improved red page is ready for download.

Thanks again,
Nicolette

Hello Nicolette and Karen,
Just wanted to let you know I noticed that on the sample for the Bug Emergent Reader, one of the pages says, "I see see bugs" instead of "I see six bugs."

Thanks.

Sorry to bother you again but would you have any photos of how you display the jobs in the classroom?
Or even an explanation would be helpful if you don't have a picture??

I will contact you again when everything is uploaded into TpT. Working on them as we speak! Here is a link to an example http://www.theclassroomcreative.com/2013/08/18/classroom-jobs/ of the jobs displayed. I didn't have much room in my classroom and I actually had them on the side of a cabinet that was very long and narrow. I laminated the images and duct taped the ribbon and the images. I put all the names of my students on clothes pins. I pinned the clothes pins to the pictures.
I welcome all your questions!

Sharlene T. re: Classroom Jobs
Hi there,
I love the look of these but was wondering if you could add a few for me??
Time Keeper - times the children during their show and tell time
Blind Monitor - opens and closes class blinds each day
Chart changer - moves children's peg up and down our class behaviour clip chart
Hand Sanitiser - gives each child some hand sanitiser before eating lunch
Locker inspector - checks that all lockers are empty at the end of each day
Bin Brigade - empties bins when full and replaces bin bags
Captain Quiet - sits in teacher chair when the teacher is busy (maybe talking to another adult) and does actions for the class to follow to keep them quiet until the teacher is ready.

Was also wondering what the yoga master job is for and the fire chief??

I hope to hear from you soon, I am really keen to start using this great resource! :-)

Hi Sharlene-

I can get these to you by next week. They will take a couple of days for me to draw and upload to TpT.

One school I taught at incorporated yoga, so the "yoga master" would lead the stretches and poses with me. Many schools seem to be incorporating small bursts of exercise or stretching, so this kid is your right-hand girl/boy!

The "fire chief" can be the line leader during fire drills, and he/she was in charge of handing me my fire list clip board near the door when we left for fire drills.

Alternatively...you could have them help you "put out fires" when things go wrong in the class. Your "go-to" person for emergency errands and what not.

Hope this helps! Karen

Michelle T. re: Thanksgiving Emergent Reader: Turkey Color Words
Hi,
I just bought this great turkey/color word book. Our sight word this week is "this". I tried to convert the book to Word so that I could change it, but it wouldn't work. Is there any way you could change it to "This is the red turkey.", etc? and email it to me?
THank you,

Hey Michelle-

This product isn't an editable document. The description lists what the story reads, and it can't be converted because it's in a PDF.

We are sorry that it doesn't match your sight word for the week, and want to make it up to you! You know how TpT's policy is with refunds because these are all digital products.

Please pick something else, anything else from our shoppe, and we will email it to you.

Shoot us an email with your selection at theclassroomcreative (at) gmail (dot) com...

(I just emailed you one of our new books! Nov. 19th)

Thanks,
Nicolette

Hi girls! I just bought your weather graphics. Super-cute by the way! I was wondering if you would be able to make a graphic for foggy? As well, if it isn't too much trouble, could you change the words on the partly sunny graphic to partly cloudy? I would REALLY appreciate it!! Great work ladies!!

Buyer re: Classroom Jobs
Nicolette,

Yoga idea sounds great.

Here are the other jobs I was thinking of:

Coat Closet Inspector-checks closet in the morning and after recess.
Geek Squad- probably the same as computer Technician
Kindness Keeper- records acts of kindness for classroom bucket, sets up and leads wish you well song.
Schedule Monitor- adds anything I forgot to put up, makes new signe when necessary, changes partner number.
Earth Saver- takes recycling down
Photographer- snaps three pictures daily
Word recorder- records words on the word walls
Blogger- write daily classroom blog
Desk Inspector- inspects student desks at the end of the day and leads Friday desk cleaning.

Please let me know when you are finished making them.
Are you going to just add them to the Classroom Job packet ?
Or should I go ahead and purchase the packet now and you'll email the extra ones to me?
How much more will I owe you and how do I go about paying that.

Thanks so much for doing these. I really liked some of the job names...Meteorologist, Fire Chief....Of course I really liked the pictures and lettering also! Too cute.

Thanks so much for getting back to us. These ideas are great, I will start drawing them right away! We are always interested in making our products more useful and effective for teachers.

You can go ahead and purchase the jobs pack, I will need a couple of days to draw and upload them to TpT. Once they are uploaded you will receive an email from TpT that I have updated the pack. You can then download it.

If their is any other product that you would like us to create for the grade/grades you are teaching, please email us. We absolutely love teacher ideas! We are here to help!

What is the yoga job?
If I gave you a list of other jobs you don't have listed would you be willing to make the labels following the format of the ones in this packet?
