This is really good for an elementary introduction to the scientific method. I teach middle school, and if students already have this background information, they will have a much better understanding at the next level.
This is a great resource for elementary science teachers! As stated by Karmen(c), it is written proof that a science experiement is not the same activity as building a model. Furthermore, it can easily be expanded into bulletin boards and/or wall charts for even more emphasis.
Very comprehensive! This guide encourages students to apply the scientific method, rather than simply making a project. Students must choose a testable hypothesis. In other words, the typical baking soda and vinegar volcano would be inadequate for this assignment.
