Hi Melissa,
The broom and chalkboard cards at the end of the reource are matching cards that can be used in a memory game and/or a "go fish" game. It is to provide students the opportunity to quiz each other or drill on their own.
One way to make this a higher-order thinking game is to make the definition chalkboards the deck and place them in the middle of the table. The students will equally deal all of the prefix chalk cards out to each player. The base word chalk cards can be spread out (face up). To start the game, player one will pick from the deck. After reading the definition they can attempt to make a word using the prefix card in their hand and the base word cards that are spread out. If the player who chose a card from the deck cannot make a match, the next player can choose to match the card or pass. If they choose to match the card, they forfeit picking from the deck and their turn is finished. If they pass, they can pick from the deck and start their turn. This continues until all of the cards are matched. The player with the most matches, wins!!
This was one of my first games that I made when I started selling on TPT! Thank you for your question because in reviewing this game, I realized that I did not include detailed directions for playing this game. I will revamp this game in the next few weeks and upload the newest version to TPT. Hello! I tried to download this but I keep getting a message saying that the file is damaged and it will not open. I just downloaded your beach ball blends to see if it was my computer, and it downloaded fine. The troubleshooting tips from TPT did not resolve this.

SPLAT is a game that I made up! It is played a variety of ways, all directions are included in eack game kit. The main way this game is played is explained below:
"SPLAT “I have that!” is perfect for small group instruction. The rules are very simple. Decide which facts you would like to focus on. The game leader holds the answer cards and players are dealt 7 fact cards each. Randomly hold up/ call out the answer card for the players to see. The student with a matching fact card calls “SPLAT, I have that!” The student who calls out SPLAT! first gets to take the answer card. Some of the answer cards can have more than one fact. The person who calls out “SPLAT” first wins the card. When a student runs out of cards, they can pick seven more. The game is over when the deck is gone and/or all of the cards are matched. The student who has the most matches at the end of the game wins."
This game can be played in a whole group or small group. There are also a variety of ways for the students to play with a partner.

the cards in this game are not lined up, making cutting up the cards take a lot longer and I need multiple sets of the game. Is there any way you can line up the cards so I can use my paper cutter? love the concept of the game.

Not sure why you would get this message, I had a few others test it for me and they said it worked for them fine and that they had no problem saving it to their computer. It is password protected to prevent the removal of the clipart but it does not prevent users from downloading and/or saving/printing. I would suggest downloading it again. If you continue to have difficulty, please contact TPT for additional support. Sorry for any inconvenience. I just purchased The Writing Binder Buddy. I am very much looking forward to using it with my kiddos. When I printed it two pages came out a little funny due to the underlining. In the Spelling Rules, the "and" is underlined to the point where it looks crossed out. In the Commonly Misspelled Words, "can't" and "horse" are underlinded to the point where it looks crossed out. The words pretty and weren't are messed up too:/ I am not sure why that happened. Is there a fix for this? Thank you in advance for your help:) ~Debbie

In reviewing this product, I did not find any items that were underlined. I am thinking that an error occurred with your initial download. I did, however, update the file. Please download the newer version and if this error continues, it would be best to troubleshoot using the "help" settings.
