TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an educator for over 17 years. During that time I have taught many age/grade levels ranging from 2 year olds to 4th grade in both the public school and private school sectors. I have also had many years experience with homeschooling my own children.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a huge fan of project based learning (PBL). My philosophy of teaching has always modeled the Chinese Proverb that says: "I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand." Our society and schools tend to teach to the left brained student. Due to my experience with a dyslexic child, I have learned to teach outside of the box, implementing more visual learning and a plethora of right brained teaching strategies. You will see this reflected in my materials available for purchase.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a full time mother of five children as well as a wife and 2nd/3rd grade science teacher. My hobbies include traveling (as much as possible), reading and crafting. I love learning new strategies for teaching, especially those that help the struggling learner.
