Hello!
I'm an SLP at an elementary school looking for a book to read to some classes to educate on AAC, your book looks fantastic! Is it a quick read? I'm looking to pop in and out of classes to provide some education and didn't know if your book was appropriate for that?

Thanks so much for all your help!
Megan

Hi, Megan,

Thanks for your interest in my book! Yes, it is great for reading to classes from k-4. It takes about 15 min to read. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story generates a lot of good discussion. Go to my author site, www.patmervine.com, where you can learn more about the book, download the free discussion guide/writing prompts, communication word search, and video on disability etiquette (which teachers might want to use as a follow-up, if your time is limited). I used the Readers Theater version of the book as an assembly for older grades and read the book in younger grades. The kids loved it, and many asked for a sequel, as they want to know what happens to Katie next! It was a great teaching tool for May is Better Speech and Hearing Month. I'd love to have your feedback if you use this book in your school! Thanks again, Pat

Pat,
The file appeared to download but it would not unzip. When I tried to unzip it, my computer said that there was not anything in the file. I will refer to the help page but I have never had any trouble downloading other purchases.
Thanks,

Sorry you are having trouble! I am currently at an airport, flying to New Mexico due to death in the family. If I could ask your patience, I will be happy to email the file to you directly when I return early next week. I don't have my computer with me, just my phone. Ok?

Thank you!

This is the info I received from TPT:
On a PC, you need a program like 7-zip to open zip files:
You can download this application from here: http://www.7-zip.org/

Once you have a zip program installed, then you can download the product zip file. Click on the file icon and it should open. If it doesn't, right-click on the file and choose 'extract' and all of files should appear.

Please let me know if you continue to have difficulty. Thank you for your purchase which supports Speaking of Speech.com!
