I have been teaching at John Horn High School in Mesquite, TX since the fall of 2003. Last year I was promoted to science instructional specialist and now I spend a large portion of my time developing curriculum and working with teachers to improve instruction.
I strongly believe in a hands-on approach to teaching science. Each day I try to incorporate a lab or activity that allows students to investigate and explore the day's topic. I try to teach major concepts using a Learning Cycle/5E approach, and I am constantly trying to improve and implement effective teaching practices.

After a year working with troubled youth in Colorado I began my teaching career. I am currently working towards my Masters degree in science education from the University of Texas at Arlington.
