On your nonvascular plant slide, you list ferns, in addition to mosses. I am a first year 5th grade teacher (not new to teaching) and bought your ppt., trusting that the info was correct. I reviewed with my students this morning, prior to the SOL test. There was a question about nonvascular plants. Students raised their hands to say that there was a typo---seems both mosses and ferns were 2 of the 4 answer choices. Grrr... the ones who recalled that picture on your slide were thinking there was an error on the SOL test. Ferns are vascular!

OH NO!! I'm so sorry. Let me fix it and repost! Thanks for the info. I made that a bit of a while back, so I can't exactly remember what I was thinking at the time, but is seems to me that I know ferns are vascular, so I'm not sure if I just made a mistake and put that on the wrong slide or what.

This covers a lot of the material taught in 4th grade. I thought that this was a little overpriced. I expected a little more for $15.00.

It seems a little expensive to purchase them as two slide presentations and pay $50. All standards tested on the 5th grade SOL for $25 seems reasonable. Buying 4th for $25 and then 5th grade for $25 more seems pricey to me.

I am not sure why the 4th grade SOLs were not addressed. It said everything to prepare for 5th grade science sol testing which leads buyers to think it covers ALL tested material. it was very disappointing to spend this much money to find that it is only a review of 1\2 the material. I think the 4th grade standards review should be included. I feel like I was misled.

I'm sorry you felt misled. I have changed the description to say that it has everything for the 5th grade SOLs instead of SOL test. Also, I guess I just assumed that since their was a separate 4th grade one people would assume it just covered fifth grade since that's what the title said. Also, the description lists the topics that are covered, which are all the 5th grade topics. Again, I'm sorry you felt misled, but the item is an excellent review of 5th grade material as stated in the title. Thanks for your interest in my materials.

I'm sorry, I did not make preview pages, because basically, it would just be the same slides that I used for the thumbnails, so I didn't really think it was necessary. Would you like me to make a preview? I think that what you see on the thumbnails is a pretty good representation of the product.

I would assume that it would work on any "Smart" Board as long as it is compatible with the SMART notebook program. Do you have SMART Notebook on your computer? The next chapters include plants with seeds/without seeds and flowers (including self-pollination, cross-pollination) before going into Animal diversity. I am just wondering if your packet includes these plant topics. I am trying to mix up the reading, but as a new teacher I am having a hard time reinventing the wheel!

Then, if you think the other materials in the book about plant parts, photosynthesis, and dormancy could be of any use to you, you could purchase the activity book if you want to.

The tests and study guides and other worksheets are generally based on 2003. The review Powerpoints and I Have Who Has Games are based on 2010. Of course, as you know, even if they are based on 2003, they generally still cover most of the content on the 2010 SOLs.
