Thanks for the comment. I originally wrote this for a very capable group of grade 7 students. It was a project in my school with a number of curriculum development specialists. It was fun to make, but nearly wore me out. I have been selling it online since 2003. Posting at TPT was a big step ahead. We will be posting a big upgrade this spring.

I have never taught Rime before, so this was a great resource to start with. The only problem I had with the packet were parts of the poem were missing. A large chunk of Part 5 was not there (a significant part of the ballad). There was also a stanza in one of the early parts that was also missing.
Other than that, the packet was very helpful. I liked the dictionary and think that really helped my students understand the poem.

The handouts included in this unit plan are excellent! Each student in our class is accustomed to the artwork of Gustave Dore because they all recieve an individual hard back copy of the poem to read room each day in class...however, they are not to write in the books, which prevents a problem when note taking and attempting to develop or teach rhyme scheme. These handouts really provided a nice format to be able to do that. Teaching literary terms and allowing the students to write on the poem itself was awesome! The other activities included on each page alongside the poem seemed to work like candy or a crossword puzzle. Many students were able or chose to fill out these sections during our reading and discussion and I can't tell you when this has ever happened before when simply being given a worksheet. AWESOME!

This was a great unit to use for discussion. My students were really able to get into the symbolism of the poem and identify the supernatural elements that they may have otherwise not understood. Thank you!

I realize that these prints are online, although not always of high quality. This resource includes the caption at the bottom and makes the resource truly usable. For a decent it price it brings it all together in one place. I have sold this resource internationally to people that have limited computer access, and no multimedia projectors. Some teachers have made transparencies or simply prints, and have been very grateful for having the PDF format.

Dear Liq,
Thanks for the idea. I think the resource needs more in the way of audio and actually a new facelift. I currently am not thinking of developing this resource. I do want to record myself in Rime of the Ancient Mariner for classroom use. I have worked selling my own recording for some children's books. I'll think about it some more and let you know.

Here are a few suggestions that might help you to better market this product. Add some clipart to add color or just color. For some reason buyers like color on the original even though they may copy your product in black and white. You might also add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page for the teacher. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. Also number your pages.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have had the good fortune to teach every grade except Kindergarten and grade 11. Currently I am an intermediate teacher teaching core Grade 4 subjects and exciting stuff in Grades 5-7, including multimedia, hands-on science, and special projects. I have also taught ESL internationally and developed products for Successful ESL which have been used in classrooms around the world.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I believe that my vocation as a teacher is to inspire learners. When there is a passion for learning, difficulties and barriers are broken down. That is why activitities such as puppetry, literature, visual arts, and multimedia are so effective.

Camosun College Creative Writing Award. Classroom experience teaching with multiple intelligences have been quoted in educational articles.

My wife, kids and I live in Coquitlam, BC. I have fish in my pond and stick bugs in my class. I've always kept an arthropod pet. I love seeing excited kids making and performing with puppets. I enjoy using the motivational ESL storybooks sold on this site.
