Hi there. Your shop if full of cheerful art and looks so professional. I am a new seller on TPT and I was wondering if you could help me. Art comes naturally to me....computer skills do not. I was wondering if you could tell me how to save my art (what is DPI/PNG/PX??) so that I can market it as "clipart"? Any info you can share would be very helpful. Thank you.

Hi Katie,

Thanks for your kind words. I use Photoshop to create my clip art after scanning. It would be too lengthy for me to try and teach you all the info you need but what I would suggest is try and google info as there are many helpful tutorials both on youtube and elsewhere on how to do these things.

Or even taking an online class would possibly be helpful.

If the file you purchased is not opening for you at all, it's likely because you do not have the right application to open it! For example, to open ZIP FILES on a PC, you need something like WINZIP (http://www.winzip.com/trialpay.htm) to open it. If you have the old version of Microsoft Office but purchased a DOCX file or a PPTX file, you just need to download and install the converter here (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3). If you don't recognize the file extension on the file you purchased, do a Google search for "How to open a .notebook file" for example. I hope this helps.

On my clip art, what you see in the preview is what you get. Thare are 16 images because there are 8 pngs and 8 jpgs. So sorry there are no images of a golden sitting up or playing. Just the sleeping puppy and the one on it's back as well as the different sized paw prints.

Hello Nancy,

Flattening a file is for those folks that use Photoshop so if you are just importing these images into Word, you won't need to worry about this but here is an explanation...Flattening a Photoshop image means the program condenses all the image layers into a single layer image. The "Flatten Image" command is located under the "Layer" menu or in the layer palette menu in more recent versions of Photoshop.

I run a small website for teachers called amazingclassroom.com and make Promethean flipcharts and backgrounds along with other resources (pdf worksheets and reading center activities) for a yearly subscription fee. I also sell on them on here. I was wondering if this was an acceptable use of your graphics if credit was given. I usually give credit on the description and/or on the actual item itself. I always "publish" the flipchart lessons so no one can extract any of the clipart from them. I like to ask before I purchase clipart from the artists as I always want to make sure that I abide by thier terms and don't violate any copyright. You can go to amazingclassroom.com and click on the flipchart picture at the bottom and the resource picture at the bottom to see things I have created to let me know if these terms are acceptable or not. Growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, Phyllis was granted her first success in the art world by winning a poster contest in grade school. Her family didn't have many children's books except for those that came free in family size boxes of laundry detergent. However, the few she did have, she pored over for hours on end, and dreamed of making pictures as wonderful as these one day. With the encouragement of many great teachers in high school and college, Phyllis started her career in art at a local city newspaper. After the birth of her daughter, she began freelancing for clients including Hallmark Cards for the next fifteen years. Phyllis began her full-time illustration career for children's publications in 1999. Since then, her illustrations have appeared in magazines and books for clients such as Scholastic, Standard Publishing, Fisher-Price, Hooked On Phonics, Houghton Mifflin, McGraw-Hill, Highlights and High-Five Magazine.
