TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over twenty years of experience teaching middle school, high school, community college and home school classes. HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have received two awards for humor columns I wrote in the 90s for a local newspaper, The Springfield (Oregon) NEWS.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.A. George Fox University, Newberg, OR M.A. California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson, CA

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been a free-lance and contracted writer for about twenty-five years. My writing credits include newspaper, magazine, public relations, inspirational writing, and a humor-based language arts book: CPR, Breathing Life Into Sentences That Might As Well Be Pushing Up Daisies (Cottonwood Press/Prufrock Press, 2010). It is targeted to students from 7th to 12th grades and provides ways for students to "breathe life" into their writing by using a number of stylistic devices and sentence patterns.
