I have taught in both inner city schools and suburban schools. I started out in my career as a Middle School teacher but have recently switched over to upper Elementary grades (last year in 5th and this year in 4th). I loved teaching Middle School but I enjoy the opportunity of getting to know my students on a deeper level academically in an Elementary classroom. I try to incorporate my knowledge of Middle School curriculum and expectations in all that I do at the Elementary level to help prepare my students for what they will encounter after they leave the Elementary level and move on to bigger things.
I am a whole brain thinker and I have a whole brain teaching approach.
My degree was obtained in Wisconsin as well as my first teaching certification. When I moved to North Carolina two years ago I got certified down here as well. I am licensed to teacher Kindergarten through Ninth grade and have an emphasis in Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics. I am currently looking into going back to school for my Masters in Administrative Leadership.
I love what I do, and I love sharing what I know with others.
