Allen Berg  (TpT Seller)
My name is Allen Berg, I am a new member of Edutopia and found your message in STEM and followed your link to Avatar (the movie I just recently saw :-) and found your Teachers Guide to be very insightful and practical across multiple subject areas.

I am retired from classroom teaching but I am always learning and writing and arts & crafting everyday, it's just part of my regular routine of life.

I am very happy to have 'discovered' this website "Teachers-Pay-Teachers" because this is exactly the type of "home-base" on the educational internet I was hoping to find... and very appreciative of your serendipitous role in getting me here...

I have taught K - University, and "greybears" as well...over the course of 30+ years... and in virtually every teaching position I held, I automatically evolved into being "Artist and Writer in Residence" at the School, and created innumerable high-interest discovery-learning tools and student-participation projects across the spectrum of subjects and ages...

I would be happy to share a cabinet-full of examples for your consideration and commentary...if you check my listings at Edutopia (by my name "Allen Berg" in Arts,
STEM, and Reform Starts Here, you can see some of my most recent projects and ideas...

Sincerely and Respectfully,

Allen Berg aka: Phineas St. George :-)

Allen,

I'm so glad that my post resulted in you finding this site. I know it suits our informal learning approach quite well. I've always said what most teachers do in the classroom, I do in the playroom. The Avatar Guide is the kind of material I'm hoping to create with a wide range of pop culture artifacts. Tell me more about your arts and crafts...i'm always interested in teaching artists.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Pop Goes the Classroom is an innovative professional development program that teaches formal and informal educators to effectively integrate popular culture into their classrooms to engage students in relevant learning experiences. Pop Goes the Classroom is the brainchild of KellyAnn Bonnell, MA an informal learning specialist with an extensive background in early childhood and out of school time curriculum and program development as well professional teacher preparation.

MY TEACHING STYLE

KellyAnn uses a constructivist approach to learning that early childhood educators refer to as emergent curriculum and K-12 educators refer to as inquiry based learning using a project approach.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
