Pop Goes the Classroom is an innovative professional development program that teaches formal and informal educators to effectively integrate popular culture into their classrooms to engage students in relevant learning experiences. Pop Goes the Classroom is the brainchild of KellyAnn Bonnell, MA an informal learning specialist with an extensive background in early childhood and out of school time curriculum and program development as well professional teacher preparation.
KellyAnn uses a constructivist approach to learning that early childhood educators refer to as emergent curriculum and K-12 educators refer to as inquiry based learning using a project approach.
KellyAnn was a nominee for the the 2011 Arizona Governor's Arts Awards in Arts Education and has was recognized as the 2004 EMMA award winner for Entrepreneurial Mother of the Year for creating her professional development company.
KellyAnn has a Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelors in Developmental Psychology. She also has a minor in Theatre Arts. She is a Child Care Health Consultant and a Master trainer for the School Age Train the Trainer program.
KellyAnn is the Education and Outreach Director for Infinite Spectrum Productions as well as the Early Childhood Director for the Unitarian Universalist Early Education Cooperative Preschool.
