I purchased the Fictional Narrative unit, and I'm unable to print the profile pages, like page 10 and 17, that the students use as graphic organizers. The colored pages printed fine, but I get a message that I haven't selected a page when I try to print these black and white pages. Help! I was planning to use the character one tomorrow!

Lori, I have no idea why it is printing this way. Did you open them on a Mac? If so, you could try this: There are 1 of 2 reasons for this. First, make sure that you aren't trying to simply view it from an iPhone (it won't show up...you'll have to download it directly from a PC/laptop. Secondly, if you are using a Mac, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader X. If after downloading that and it still doesn't work, try these options: - If you're a Mac user, switch browsers (i.e. if you're currently opening in Firefox, try opening in Internet Explorer or Safari) - Make sure you check Adobe under "open with" to verify that that Adobe is the program you're using to open the document and not "preview" - Try opening the document from an entirely different computer (open directly from TpT). I hope these options work!! If not, please email me at lindsaydflood@gmail.com {don't forget the "d" in between "lindsay" and "flood"}. I will be MORE than happy to try and send you a copy over email! Please let me know if any of these work! :) Lindsay :)

Hi, I am having a devil of a time after I insert the frame into WORD and then sizing it properly. I can't get it to fill the entire page - there's always a white border at the edge of my page. Hi, Carol! :) After you insert the frame, right click on the image and, depending on what version of Microsoft Word, you're looking for either "Picture Format" or "Wrap". You want to click "In Front of Text" so that you can stretch and shrink and center your image. I must say, it's a lot easier to create files with borders/clip art in Microsoft Powerpoint. Images are a lot easier to manipulate. :) I hope this helps! :) Lindsay

we use this same Valentine Venn diagram each year on the Smartboard for a logic and sorting exercise. We place all of the names around the Venn diagram. Then we lead it by deciding on a "rule" for each valentine.... in putting a name in each, to include what they have in common. Then we let them ponder the rule, and if they think they know it, come up to place a name in one of the 3 possibilities [We select one-at-a-time]. We let them know if it is correct or incorrect. Ours is 2nd grade so not all get the concept of "learning from your mistakes", but most do. You can choose all types of scenarios: vowels, double letters, boys/girls, letter endings/starts..... It is fun, and a good follow-on math activity to your literature activity!

Sorry this isn't a question. I tried to add another feed back and couldn't. I wanted you to know how wonderful your third grade reading graphic organizers are. WOW!!I knew they were great but even more so since I have checked on others. There is enough room to write answers and I love the page where kids have to put page numbers. Great practice for those state tests. Thank you again for such a fabulous packet.!!!!!

It is a freebie where you put two Decodable Reader stories (from Reading Street) on a page. We would love to have a set for each classroom (the entire grade level). However, I noticed where you would like to give permission for us to do so. We are trying to increase the volume of reading here and they want to place these inside a fluency folder. Hey! :) No problem! First, make sure you "Unzip" the file that you download. When you download it, you will see that the file has a little grey zipper on it. At the top of the window that it's open in, you will see where it says "Extract Files". Click on that, and then save them to whatever location you save your clip art {I always save mine in a specific folder on a jump drive, or you can save them in "My Pictures" or "My Documents" or wherever. Then, when you get into word, just click "Insert", click "Picture", and then locate wherever you saved the files. Let me know if this works! Hi! You have to make sure to Unzip the file. I don't have a Mac, but they can be used in any program (like Microsoft Word and such) to create all kinds of materials. You will have to probably google how to Unzip files, save them to your computer (in a folder to find so you can insert them into your document). I hope this helps! :)
