Very clearly walks kids and teachers through the instructions with suggestions that they do it as a group. If you want them to do it individually or as a class, you can delete that part of the document.
Some information is separated into text boxes for visual clarity.

Yes. It is listed as a Word document so that it can be edited. I realize that different curriculums/textbooks emphasize different words so I wanted others to be able to adjust the document if necessary. Hope that helps!

Hi! I'd love to help, but I'm not sure what the problem is. If you can no longer access it b/c you purchased so long ago, you can go to My Purchases and click 'Extend for 24 hours'. It may ask you where you want to save/open it or else you need to find the drive/folder on your computer where downloaded items automatically go to open it. You could try a right click and then 'save target as' and then open once saved. On your My Purchases page there is a yellow box and you can click a link to contact the owners of TpT. When I created that file, I was using an earlier version of Word so 2010 should be able to open it. I hope that helps!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught 4th grade in Maryland for 8 years and 5th grade for 1 year. For manyyears, I was departmentalized teaching only Reading/Language Arts and Science. I actually enjoyed teaching grammar and learning about/using the 6+1 Trait method for writing. I also spent 2 years as a science resource teacher working with teachers and students in all elementary grades.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I love having parts of a lesson be hands-on. Even something as boring as grammar can become tactile and therefore memorable. I love teaching science!
