Three Skelton Key- Why were there not any tests with the answers? Why did you not provide any answers to the many worksheets provided other than the comprehension question WS? Suggestions to provide a 'Cliff Note' version for the teacher. Provide detailed character information. Do you know that there are two different ending version of the story? The story read by Vincent Price is different than what was in our HRW 7th grade Elements of Language book. Provide more activities that the students can do with a partner or a group activity/project. Provide more information of where was the setting. I did a PPT on location of setting (South America, Brazil, French Guiana, Cayenne, and in a lighthouse off the mainland). I will send as an attachment if you provide an email address. For the cost, I did not think I was going to still spend so much time on this lesson due to the price I paid. Too much provided that is not needed or used. I would have wanted more to really use.
Please advise your response and if there is more available. I wanted to give you benefit of a doubt and a chance to respond before I complete my rating and comments.

I apologize that the materials did not help you very much. I also apologize if my product description was unclear, as it seems that there are a number of items that you wanted that were not included.
One of the things that I do to try to minimize misunderstandings like this is, in addition to listing everything, to post my entire product in the preview page as 1/4 page pictures so that teachers can see every single item. That way, you get to see the entire product before any purchase. To my knowledge, I am the only TpT seller that does this because it's essentially showing all of the intellectual property and anybody can zoom in the file and type everything up on their own. All other sellers of digital teaching materials provide previews by only showing the buyer a portion of the product.
In terms of providing too much that is not needed, I've always found that other teachers and myself, speaking as a classroom teacher too, would rather get more things and then pick and choose what to use. Because of that, I basically give every teacher who makes a purchase a whole bunch of materials that other sellers parcel out and sell separately.
In regards to the price of $2.25, I apologize if you felt that it was unreasonable. I agree that there are a number of things that could make this pack better such as a test, story summaries, character analysis pages, and more! Also, thank you for letting me know about the two endings. I did not know that! Perhaps in the future these pieces can be added and I graciously receive your suggestions!

These hit various standards throughout the Reading Standards for Literature strand from grade 6-12 depending on how you teach the story. CC is much more performance based than the state tests, so there will be much more emphasis on ability to explain, justify, and analyze.
The powerpoints and graphic organizers are mainly to establish declarative knowledge, but the students really have to be able to justify their responses in the short answer questions in the worksheets, which is where these are most applicable for common core.

It really depends on how much of it you have the kids do in class. I've used this with some regular English classes where I'll just go over what to do, give the kids the scaffolds, and then I move on to something else while the kids have a week to complete the essay at home. I've also done this with reading intervention students where I've had to do all of it with the kids in class. That usually takes about 4-5 days.

I'm having a little issue though. I just ordered the "Mother to Son Lesson Plans with Worksheets" and I can't open any of it. When I click on them, nothing happens. When I try to extract, it asks for a password. Could you please assist me as I need these files for class on Monday? Thank you!

re: "Seventh Grade": I don't agree with the answer you provide as to why Victor wants to take French. At the very beginning, Victor states he thinks he might visit France one day and describes what he thinks about France. He also all ready knows English and Spanish. Teresa being in the class is more of a bonus reason, not the main reason stated by Soto in the story. I know the publisher of our lit book states the reason is Teresa as you do, but I disagree, and when I teach it I state Teresa is the secondary or bonus reason.

I see many files regarding stories in a Lit book I use with a sixth grade class. Are these story activities based on the story from the Lit book or from a full version book? (Dog of Pompeii, All Summer in a Day, What do Fish..., The Bracelet, Emperor's New Clothes)
