LOVE this! I give this an A+ -- I studied Words Their Way spelling way back in my credential program and will be trying it out with my class next year. I have been doing candy bar awards with my classes for many years. This makes my life a little easier with ready-made certificates that are WAY cuter than the ones I usually give. I only wish I could edit all the sayings on the awards so I could put my own spin on them.

I tell my struggling 3rd graders who take the state test for the 1st time that it is not about the reading level they are on when they take the test but how good of a reading detective they are. This will give them practice and boost their confidence to tackle higher level texts.

Hi Rachel! I love the Grade 2 common core "I Can" statements!!! So cute! I teach in Maryland and we have additional indicators- the wording is broken down more specifically and some of the numbers are different. Is there an editable version?

Tracy-this is due to adobe most likely. Be sure you have the most up to date version free from their site. OR if you are on a Mac it opens up by default in preview. Try downloading the product and opening in adobe.

Hey. I make everything in PowerPoint. Then I save as pictures from the file menu. Tada! I open a new presentation and insert most if the pictures into it. Then I save that slide as a picture as well. Hope that helps!

Hi Rachel, I just purchased the Good Vibrations unit and I was sad to see that some of what I believe should be on the page isn't. I have the latest ADOBE reader downloaded and I was wondering if there would be any way you could email me the unit. I love your packet! It has given me organization for a holidays around the world unit I was piecing together. One favor, is the any way possible you can add a page in the packet for Eid? I have kids in my second grade who are thrilled to have Diwali in the packet but two who are left out because they are muslim. I had a parent do a PowerPoint last year that I can use, but they would feel so much more a part if they had a page that looked liked the others in format that I could add to the book. Would you be willing to do that? I would pay you, of course, I just wanted it to match your booklet.

HI! i JUST PURCHASED THE 86 PAGE SCRAPBOOK BUNDLE AND WAS SO BUMMED THAT THE INFORMATION WAS NOT INCLUDED. OF COURSE I REALIZED AFTER MY PURCHASE THAT I COULD'VE PURCHASED THE HOLIDAYS AROUND THE WORLD POWERPOINT. I'M ASSUMING THE INFORMATION IS IN THERE? DO I NEED TO PURCHASE THE BUNDLE TO MAKE THIS PROJECT WORK? I ALREADY BOUGHT THE $8 SCRAPBOOK PACK. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. I FEEL SO DUMB FOR NOT LOOKING - BUT I GOT TOO EXCITED AND BOUGHT RIGHT AWAY. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU COULD DO TO HELP ME OR SHOULD I JUST SPEND THE EXTRA $10? THANKS SO MUCH!

Hi Rachel. I just decided to begin implementing CAFE in my classroom after the holidays and I love your Wizard of Oz theme. For the "menu" items, how do you put them on a bulletin board? Do you have them typed up on Wizard of Oz themed paper that we can purchase? I hope that question makes sense, haha.

I love this resource. I noticed that the students can read through the information on the Scholastic link for many of the answers to the questions in the passport booklet, however, where can they find the answers to the questions on Las Pasadas? Thanks.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I taught 4th grade for 7 years and loved it. I currently teach 2nd and am lovin' it! Don't really care how old they are, I love it!
MY TEACHING STYLE
All over and everywhere! I have the attention span of a...well, a 2nd grader so we are an actively engaged little classroom. I love workshop style with quick lessons then practice and use it for Reading workshop and Math instruction.
