Hi Rachel,

I have begun purchasing some of your task cards for language arts. I just started browsing your math task cards, but I noticed that you don't have any task cards bundled into packages. Would you be willing to do this? Thanks!

Hi Christine,

I have actually been thinking of doing this for months and have been playing with different bundling options (I only want to bundle each set in one bundle so that people don't get duplicates). I will either bundle by topic or grade level. Not sure which yet. I will have some bundles available by next school year.

mrsredgate re: "Phrase Craze" Task Cards: 90 Lateral Thinking Puzzle Cards (Like Frame Games)
Hi, I bought and downloaded your 'phrase craze' cards today and there seems to be a few problems with a number of the cards - eg. #6 should be 'one in a million', but the card just has a number 1 on it, with a blurred purple box, the same with #7,10,16,22 and quite a few more. On others, there are complete words missing - without them, the puzzles don't make any sense. Could you please fix this??

Try downloading the most recent version of Adobe Reader. That usually does the trick for this kind of issue. If that does not work, downloading to a different computer may. The cards are fine, so there is nothing I can do on my end. If neither solution works, contact me again so we can work out a refund.

Hi Rachel!

I have been looking at several of your projects and have downloaded many of them, THANK YOU! They are awesome and I can't wait to use them in the classroom.

I am currently working in a temp position as a fourth grade teacher and was wondering about one of your products. I was wondering what the Brain Teasers activity looks like? Would it be possible for you to send me one example of them before I purchase? I could not get a good idea of what the product was in the preview.

THANK YOU for your products!

Hi Dianne,

The Brain Teasers are actually one of my earlier products and to be honest, it is not as polished as my more recent products. However, the problems themselves are solid. Basically, the 56 problems are in two formats. They are laid out in a worksheet form with several problems on the page like the first page in the free preview and then they are all in half-page card format like the second page. I am not sure that sending you a page would do much good because it would just be the same one that is in the preview. I am glad you like my products and I really do appreciate your business!

Hi Rachel,
I sure appreciate all the work you're doing and sharing on this website. I like these grs.1-4 class rules task cards. Could you please make a higher level set? I teach middle school and the activity is perfect to get them talking to each other appropriately, but your current level is too low for me. There are lots of examples of middle/high school rules online. Could you also make something that includes the Boys Town Social Skills? Or Larry Bell's Power Words for testing? Sharing the royalties is an option, too... ;-D

If you are referencing a specific product please link to the product page. If you want to do more than that...it is up to you. On the Perimeter Task cards with optional Area, the answer key to the area questions is incorrect. #3 should be 54, #5 should be 37, #15 should be 79, #17 should be 85. The answers on these questions are based on you just multiplying the numbers that are actually on the cards, but you have to break the shapes apart and refigure the lengths of the sides. The kids have to understand that opposite sides are equal and apply that to how the different shapes combine to be that total length. Is it possible to get a new answer key that is correct made?

I use Microsoft Word and to be honest, it took me forever to create my template to get them to format correctly. It is much easier to format if you do not want a strip along the bottom (which I do for my copyright information). Most sellers who make Task Cards use PowerPoint. It is pretty easy to split the slide into four equal parts.

Hi Alethia,

I would love to help you out...but I just dont' have time to change a whole set of cards for one buyer. One thing you could do is type out a little strip that says "None of the Above" and glue it to each card before you copy them. I used the Century Gothic font, size 14 for the answers. It is a little labor intensive, but if you are going to use them for years, it could be worth it.

csysyn re: Summarize It! Task Cards: 24 Nonfiction Paragraph Cards
Hi, Rachel,
I purchased your set of Main Idea /Task Cards and got them set up to use. When I read them, I realized the paragraphs are exactly the same as another main idea set I had purchased from the seller, Melissa Byrne "What's the Main idea?" It only has one level and some of the cards are in a slightly different order, but they're basically the same-I would like to get some more sets from you as I like the format you have set up, but I was concerned that the reading selections would be too similar- csysyn

Wow! Thank you for telling me about this. This seller has copied my work as my cards were the first Main Idea card to be posted - over a year ago! You should get your money back for her set. I tried to find this seller on TpT and could not. Is she using a different store name? I would love it if you could give me the link to her copied Main Idea product.

Hi, Rachel:

I just wanted to follow up on your comment on my page yesterday. I replied, but I failed to mention a few things. First, I made the changes! Secondly, (and more importantly) THANK YOU for even considering featuring my freebie to your followers. Being that you are a top seller, and because there are so many freebies out there, I appreciated that fact that you found my reading log helpful and were willing to share! -Shey

race re: BOOM! A Game to Play with Task Cards: FREE!
Sorry! Everyone else seems to understand, but I'm unsure about this part: "If you pull a card from the Boom Bin you must discard all your cards ..." Isn't everyone taking turns pulling from the bin?

Hmmm, I wonder if I should have been more clear in the directions. I will take a second look at them.

So, when I player answers correctly, he or she gets to keep the card. So, when a player draws a BOOM card from the bin, she has to discard all the cards she has collected. Does that make sense?

Would it be possible to make posters for Main Idea, Cause & Effect, and Context Clues like the ones that come with many of your task card sets. You also sell them seperately but those three do not have one. That would be awesome. I have them all on a BB for Reading Objectives.

That is a super idea. I will put it on my list of things to do...but it may be awhile. It is a big list, and we are moving next month!

Hi Rachel. Love your stuff. Your orange analogy cards have two #23 and no #24. Can we get this fixed? Thanks.

Dear Rachel,
I downloaded 5 of your ppts to use with my class and for some reason they are blocked for editing. I have special needs students and need to adjust the font color and when I click to open the ppt I get a security Alert notification. Is there anyway around this. I teach grade 3 which is the first year for our state test and I really wanted to use these ppts with my students. Your content is great - I just need to tweak a bit to meet accommodations. Can you advise?
the PPTs I purchased are Character Traits, drawing conclusions, Fact and Opinion, Informational Text question slides, and informational text paragraph slides.

Thank you for your help,
Kim M.

Hi Kim,

The PowerPoints are in Show format because there has been a rash of unethical sellers stealing content and selling it as their own. If you write me at reallyrachel@gmail.com we can see if we can work something out for your situation.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Most of my teaching experience is with gifted and talented students in grades 2-4, though I have worked with children of all ages in general education classrooms as well. A few years ago I stopped teaching in order to write nonfiction children's books full time. Gradually over the last couple of years, my career has switched from writing to creating teaching materials here on Teacher Pay Teacher. I love creating teaching products (most recently task cards) and feel just as passionate about my work now as I did when I was teaching. I also love knowing that my products help thousands of teachers and reach tens of thousands of students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goal is to create high-quality products that are easy to use and include some element or creative or critical thinking. Many of my products are also aligned to Common Core Standards.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am currently a Top Ten seller on TpT, both for all time as well as in the weekly lists. I am the all time number one seller for grades 3-5. In addition, I have written over 100 nonfiction books for children for a variety of publishers as well as several teacher resource books.
