Did you provide an answer key for the Recipes for Reading Bundle Packet? I just purchased the packet, but it wasn't an answer key with it. I saw answer key for the individually recipes.

What do you use for the crystals in the geode activity?

I use vase fillers found in most craft supply stores or even in the craft section of Wal-Mart. You can usually find small plastic gems/jewels or small sea glass pieces. In a pinch, glitter will also work, if the kids apply it liberally.

I will check my files. I have not taught this book in a few years, so have not developed any new products for it recently, but I will check to see if I have any previous materials to post.

re: "Wild About Learning!" Wild Animal Safari Jungle Classroom Theme
Rebecca, I really love the download I purchased. You are very creative and resourceful. The problem I am having is the pdf only opens in preview and I am not able to size the graphics or type in text. For example on the Daily folders I would like to be able to just type in the student's name and not have to hand write it in. Or if I am using the blank Rule paper, I am unable to type in my rule. Am I doing something wrong?

re: Folder Covers for Home/School Communication - Wild Animal Theme
I love this set but need a Monday folder instead of a Friday folder.
Can I change it when I order the set? If not, can you create a Monday folder sheet for the pack. Thanks- Becky

The file is in pdf format so is not editable. However, I have added a Monday Folder page to both the free product (Folder Covers) and the complete Wild About Learning Classroom Theme. Please redownload the product to get the updated version. Thanks for the suggestion, and enjoy! -Rebecca

I purchased your lesson on the Legend of the Christmas Spider. My download did not inclued the items shown and the first page printed blank. Can you send me the items I didn't get?
December 12, 2010
Rebecca Bettis
(TpT Seller)
Kristy, I will be happy to email you each of the items from the zipped file separately if you will give me your email address. The first page of the Word document in the zipped file is blank. This was a formatting issue that occurred when I converted the file from the Open Office document I created it with into Word. You are not actually missing anything - that file is only 1 page long. The other items as shown in the preview images should all be in the pdf file titled "Legend of the Christmas Spider" included in the zipped file. Please email me at bec1273@aol.com and I will send you each file separately. Hopefully this will resolve your difficulty. I am sorry for the complication, and thank you for your purchase! Rebecca

Did you get my email with my question about not getting the craft activity or the questions to go with this? amy.evans@ksd.org

I'm sorry, I have not received your email with your question, so I am not sure which craft activity you did not receive. I have just sent you an email with all 4 craft/reading passages attached. In the zipped file that you purchased, there are 2 pdf files and 3 additional folders. One of the folders, titled "Reading Passages" contains the 4 reading passage/craft or recipe activities. Each passage's questions are included with that passage, and the craft or recipe instructions are included in the bottom portion of the reading passage. Please let me know if this does not answer your question or resolve your difficulty. Thank you! Rebecca

Hi,
I am interested in purchasing your unit, but I have a different goal in mind for my class election unit. I don't want to have them elect a class mascot. I want them to cast votes for the actual candidates. Then we will compare the class results to the actual results. My question to you is how much/many of this unit is based on voting for a class mascot? Are most of the reproducibles based on the class mascot? Thank you.

Hi Tori,
The following reproducibles do not contain any reference to the class mascot election: What Does the President Do? (a flow chart for students to decribe and give examples of presidential duties), Where Do They Stand? (students complete a side-by-side comparison of the candidates on as many issues as you choose, then decide with whom they most agree on each issue), It's an Issue Of... (students identify a problem at your school and how it could be solved), Voter's Guide to the Presidential Candidates (a minimum 5 page booklet students create detailing each candidate, including biographical data and each candidate's stance and experience on major issues), Election Facts and Opinions (students practice differentiating between facts and opinions), A History of Voting Rights (students complete a Voting Rights history timeline), Application for Voter Registration (does include a mention of class mascot in the directions, but that can be easily whited out), Voter Registration Cards, Roster of Registered Voters, "I Voted!" stickers (to be printed on sticker paper or labels), and an election vocabulary list. In addition, each of the lesson plans includes activities related to the presidential election as well as the class mascot election. All books and websites listed in the Resources section (16 total) refer to presidential elections. I hope this helps in your decision making!
