HI Regina,
I love your "s or sh" and "T or th" powerpoints. Thank you so much for sharing. I was wondering if you might also have one for "c or ch"? I'm happy to make my own but thought I'd ask before jumping in.
Cheers,

I'm so sorry....but the Clip Art Terms Of Use make it very clear that I can't share workable files containing their clip art....I can't even share it with teachers at my own school. It's a big NO-NO. What I can do for you is to translate it into Spanish....which I've done and is now posted (Una Jirafa). If you would like, just reply with your email address and I'll send a Spanish translation your way!

Thank you so much for all of your kind words....you made my day! I added the groundhog, snake, flamingo, and camel labels to the bundle you already purchased so that you can get them by redownloading the labeling bundle. I don't know if you realized that I added a bunch of my labeling sheets last December to that pack as well (hopefully you got that notification)....so now it's up to 66 labeling sheets. Whew! Who knew that I could come up with so many! BTW check out my blog fairytalesandfictionby2.blogspot.com to find some other labeling sheets that you can download for free. My most recent is a Cat In The hat labeling sheet.
Happy Labeling!

Learning with Lucy  (TpT Seller) re: A+ FREEBIE for Veterans Day... Veterans: Three Graphic Organizers
Thank you for the quick response and the coupon from your store. That is awesome! I guess I was thinking along the lines of bundling 12 - 15 sets with at least 6 pages per set in both color (3) and black and white (3). That would be 72 - 90 pages. The price could be approximately $16 - 20 as this would be a considerable discount for the customer and a significant sale for the creator. As you know, a bundle would allow you more products to sell and a choice for customers. This is just my thought! It is your store and you must do what is right for you. I understand.

Please consider bundling the 3-section graphic organizers. You could have: holidays, insects, farm, social studies, reading info, fairy tales, folk tales, jungle animals, zoo animals and many more. I would love to purchase many of these, but in a bundled set at a reasonable price. It is more economical for me. Plus, I end up with more GO charts. I realize it's a daunting task, but the basic work is already done. Just need to bundle. I purchase a lot of items bundled because I can get more than tiny individual purchases. My kids just completed something similar to this and it really helped with their writing. Please let me know. Thanks and I do love your work. It is neat, kid-friendly and topic related. Thanks!!!

Hi There!
Thanks so much for the input, and for the compliments! I would be more than happy to bundle the items for you. It does take me several hours each time I bundle items. I would really appreciate you letting me how many you think I should put in a bundle and what I should charge for it. To be honest, that is one of the hardest things for me to figure out.....the pricing. Silly, right? I know how much time and money I have to put into each one, but at the same time....I'm a working teacher, and know how limited all of our incomes are....what a pickle!
Please let me know what you are thinking!

Hi There!
I actually teach Kindergarten, and I made these activities with my own students in mind. My Science Director for my school district was very excited about my STEMS so she went through each of them and told me the Science standards which we follow in Florida that would apply for different Elementary grades. (That's why there may be different grade levels other than Kindergarten addressed in the Science Standards.) At this time, I'm not going to be able to add in First Grade Common Core Standards, but perhaps I will change that in the future if I'm able to find some extra time. Thank you so much for your interest!
Happy Holidays!

Do you have any pictures of the gingerbread man bridges your kids made? I am doing this with my kids this week and not sure exactly how I want to go about it (how/where to have them make it, about how many marshmallows and tooth picks they will use....)
Thanks,

Hi Lisa,
I'm so sorry that I don't have any pictures.....I actually had a parent helper work with my students last year, while I worked at a literacy station with my Kindergarteners. It' really how you want to make it work for you in your own classroom....I have come to realize that different people have different tolerance levels for active learning. If you ever read my blog (fairytalesandfictionby2.blogspot.com), you'll see that I call myself Queen Chaos (with good reason). Like my name suggests...I work well in a little bit of a more free environment. I had suggested to my parent helper to have the students build a bridge across two of my tables (brought together with a small space in between. He (it was a dad) decided that he'd rather have the students sitting at the table working, so he pulled some blocks from my block center and had the students build the bridge across the distance of the blocks (around 6-10 inches). It didn't bother me one little bit, that he came up with a way that made it work for him. In fact, I had never thought of doing it that way....and it worked like a charm. My students were all very happily engaged sitting during the activity (whereas my way would have had them standing).

If you would like to plan exactly the amount of marshmallows and toothpicks that your students will use so that you can make sure that you have enough...I have some suggestions for you:

1. You could have them count out a specific number of each item (using their counting, math skills)
.....or....
2. You could have them "purchase" the marshmallows and toothpicks by reading sight words or by telling you alphabet letters or letter sounds. (Just limit the number of sight words or letters to the number of marshmallows and toothpicks that you are willing to have available.
I hope this helps...
Have a great rest of your weekend!

Hi There!
Thank you for your interest....I was just thinking that I wanted to incorporate another type of thematic activity and this may be what I was looking for! The Spooky Halloween sight words the only one I made last year.....what type of theme are you thinking? Also...just fyi: my personal classroom sight words have changed from the ones I used last year. Although to me, a word is a word, and my kids should know as many as possible....it makes my life easier to use the ones on my own list. This year, the sight words I use are based off of the Kindergarten McGraw-Hill series (there's still 40 and around 3/4 of them are the same as the Spooky Halloween ones.
I have some activities I have to make for my own class, but I'll start working on something for you....let me know a theme, and I'll see what I can do!

hi Regina, yes i am thinking themes, u can make different themes ocean theme, vertebrates theme, .. u can have a variety of themes and u can put the same file in many themes.. and in my opinion u don't have to put all the organizers in the theme like u can make put one organizer in the document but different animals.. because for me, i bought the fish document to use the are, have, can organizer only so i just used 2 pages out of 6 pages.. and bought other documents for my vertebrates theme same organizer.. and for the price a fair price for 17 documents together 2 pages each if u put only one organizer type may be 15$ as if u considered each 2 pages for 1$ and 2$ discount for such a large document .. i know its a larger amount of money and some teachers may be interested in buying only one document for 3.5 $ but for teachers that need more than one document i think it will be more valuable.. this way you can benefit in many ways .. hope everything is clear.. that's my opinion and that's my email as well mmenohabaradabsat@hotmail.com .. waiting for the free document (hope i can use it for Science).. thank you :)

Would you be able to make some matching pictures (6) to a page in color? The matches would be ... bird / nest bird/ beak/ bird/ feather bird / sun bird/ wing bird/ sitting in a tree. The next set would be bat/ cave bat/ vampire teeth bat/ moon bat/ hands, fingers bat/ hanging upside down bat/ fur. I would also like a blackline cut and paste paper with the same pictures for the children to match. This would help me so much.
thank you for your time,

Hi Diane,
Of course I will try to help you! When is your evaluation?
Also....let's see if I'm understanding what you want.....you're wanting (in color) 1 large bird + 1 large bat with 12 pictures for kids to match to each of these. Then you want 1 printable sheet (black and white) for kids to be able to cut, sort, glue the pictures under the correct animal.
Is that right?

Regina...It's so funny you have these! My son as Asperger's Syndrome, the highest functioning form of Autism. And he has one of these too, but I cut half of the lid off it and he sits in it to watch tv. Kids with Autism like real tight spaces and I saw the idea on Pinterest. So I guess it works for all kinds of kids; I never thought to use it with my gen. ed. kids. Perfect idea! Thanks for sharing, Cara;0)

I never thought about cutting half of the lid off....very clever, you!
My students LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these....it's just like when you buy your child a gift, and they just want to play with the box! I actually saw an idea on pinterest using pillows and laundry baskets....but having caught lice twice from my classroom kiddos, the pillows are out PLUS I could totally envision kids breaking the laundry baskets (mother of four) so I opted for the complete, heavy duty tubs. Then my brain went crazy thinking about making them into something that I could call a "Reading Machine". So, here it is! :)
Have a great year!

i'm still confused. can they use as much paper as they want? does there need to be a roof? would the unifix cubes sit on the point of the roof? do you have pictures of past towers? sorry. don't know why this is so confusing to me. it sounds like a great project. i really want to try it. thanks!

Students can use as much paper as they want....the whole idea is for them to be able to think out of the box and come up with their own tower design.

When I have done this, the best tower (that we have come up with that will hold unifix cubes) is one that is made with a paper rolled into a tube shape (think of a paper towel roll, cylindrical shape)...tape the paper. Then you add a piece of paper on top for the roof (say a 1/4 piece of paper torn or cut from an 8 1/2" by 11" paper balanced on top of the cylinder). Then you can add another rolled piece of paper (taped) with another 1/4 piece of paper balancing on top for the roof....you can continue adding as many rolls of paper with rooftops as the tower will hold (and depending on the steadiness of your hand). The unifix cubes can sit on top of that top piece of paper.

I will work on adding pictures this week. I haven't been sure whether to add pictures or not to STEM activities, because they should be open ended....but I think that I will add pictures to help teachers see how they have worked for me (although someone else may come up with a better idea...that's the beauty of people creating their own designs).

I hope for now, the explanation helps you...if not, let me know what you're still confused about, and I'll try to explain.
:) Regina

i bought the unit and don't quite understand how the unifix cubes stay on top of the tower. i read it attached to yarn, but how do you keep it on the tower and add more cubes? Would you mind explaining a little bit?

Hi There!
I'm so sorry about the confusion....
If the tower holds the single unifix cube with the string attached, very carefully place another unifix cube on top of the tower (not attached to the unifix cube with the string). You could tell your students that these cubes represent different characters that visited the tower…..see how many “people” the tower can hold.

I added this explanation to the Teaching Suggestions. Thank you for letting me know about your confusion. I hope that this answers your question. :)

If you would like to choose another item(s) from my store with a $5.00 value, I'll be more than happy to send it to you for free (if you give me your email address).

:) Happy Teaching!

Hi There!

You are too sweet! I feel strongly that teachers have to stick together.....so you have made me think tonight! How about for every 2 you buy, I'll send you 1 for free via email....just make sure to send me another note here with your email, your sign-in name (so that I can verify the purchase), and the free STEM(s) you would like to have sent to you.

Another thought....I'll compile the 8 STEM activities into a zip file for $25.00. That would save you $15.00. (Let's see...that's 3 gallons of milk and a loaf of bread -- can you tell I'm a mom of four?) I'll have the zip file posted by tomorrow.

I hope this helps!

Hi Diane,
We're using McGraw-Hill next year, too...but I don't have access to any information about it yet.

My initial plan was to make an entire picture dictionary....so $400.00 worth of clip art and 10 days later,I finally finished my letter Aa page. Oh my gosh! How I got myself into this, I'll never know! Yes I do....I wanted a complete pictionary for my own classroom, but this has gotten beyond ridiculous! I had thought about making a Grow As I Go set that buyers could purchase for $30.00....but I can't guarantee when I'll have the other letters ready. What do you think?
Buried in the alphabet,

When I make new items, I always post them at 50% off for the first 24 hours. That way, anyone is able to purchase my items at a discount. If you are following me, you will get an email from TPT that I have posted something new....or you can just look at the postings on your home page (about half way down in the middle...there are postings of new items belonging to anyone you are currently following). I'm sorry about the confusion! If you send me your email, I'll send you a free STEM activity...just let me know which one you would like!

Hi Regina,
Hope you are enjoying your summer so far, if you are already done. Our last day was Friday! Yipee!! I have two requests when you have time. I was telling my friend who is a 1st grade teacher about "The Kindergarten Queen and King" and she asked if you could make a 1st grade King and Queen. Our county adopted McGraw Hill and our first Kindergarten story is "The Ugly Duckling." I was wondering if you would be able to make something to go with the story.
Thanks again and enjoy!

I need some time to decompress (my daughter graduated high school today...happy for her but sad for me) and then I'll get started. Hopefully I'll have it ready for you guys by next weekend or sooner.
BTW...Does your friend want different characters from the Kindergarten King and Queen or is she wanting to keep the same characters?

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 13th year of teaching. I am in my 8th year of Kindergarten, and I love it! I began teaching in Texas 20 years ago as a Bilingual Education Teacher (2 years in 1st Grade, and 1 year in Pre-Kindergarten). When my family moved to Colorado, I taught at my children's private pre-school for 2 years. Once we moved to Florida, I became a stay at home mom (again...I had taken some time off in Texas) until our 3rd child went to Kindergarten. That's when I became a Kindergarten teacher, and I found out that it is my favorite grade to teach! We now have 4 children, and I'm always trying to balance between being a mom and being a teacher!
