Just commented on the first set I bought not realizing that you had already done the second too! I'm so thrilled to get these!!! Gregor is the best read aloud ever and i was really wanting some ready to go activities to go with it! Don't know if you've already done the other 3 books, but if not, please do!!! :) Great work!

Oh my gosh...I've been looking for something to use with Gregor....and I found it!! This is the second year in a row I've read the entire series to my students and they LOVE it. Any chance you'll be making similar packets to go with books 2-5?? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE???? This series is gonna blow up soon...it's the next Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, and I know everyone will want something like this for each book :)

This post put the biggest smile on my face because I love to see other teachers who are also passionate about this series. Gregor the Overlander is hands down one of the best novels I have ever read to my students! I loved making this unit and I am very happy that you can use it in your classroom! I agree, these books are going to be the next Harry Potter!

I agree, this lesson is so value because the students get to practice life skills such as working in a group and planning a celebration. The kids have such a blast looking at recipes! It is also fun to hear the students talk about how much work goes into hosting a party.

Several of the pages have blurry areas on them and I can't find any directions on the pages. For example, page 2 of the document just has green blurred rectangles and black blurred rectangles. Then there are a lot of periods but no words. I think something's wrong with the document. Page 3 has photos of your student with no captions, just black blurry rectangles...Page 4 is fine but page 5 has a blurry black square and nothing else but the ant. Same with pages 6, 7, 8, and 12. The rest seem to be okay. Can you please advise?

I think I may have a solution to the problem! Most likely my file was created on a newer version of Powepoint then is installed on your computer. Hopefully, you will just need to download the newest version of Adobe Reader!

1. The black bars - These are showing up because you do not have the most updated version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer or you have a Mac. If you go to your purchases page, you will see the word "blurry" flashing. There is a link there to download the newest version of Adobe for free.
If you have a Mac, go to your downloads folder. Open your the file with Adobe, not your default reader. I have a Mac, so I have this issue also.
2. Rest assured the file is not corrupted and does not contain a virus. It probably just was created in a computer with a newer version of Adobe or Word than you have on your computer. Follow the steps in number one above and it should open fine.

Hi. I just purchased your How Big Is a Foot math/literature connection activity. It looks like it will be a great resource, but for some reason, the pages look wonky. There are black lines all over most of the blackline master pages, which I am sure are not supposed to be there. Do you think something went wrong with the download? I'd like to leave positive feedback, and if this can be cleared up, I definitely will.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Aloha! My name is Renee Smalley and I can't tell you how much I love my job! This year is my 9th year in the classroom. Five years ago, I moved to Hawaii from North Dakota, where I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work at a variety of grade levels. I have taught kindergarten, second, third and fourth grade. I currently work at Pearl Harbor Elementary School in Honolulu, HI. Go Sharks! There are so many fun things to do and learn in Fourth grade, and I can't wait to share some of my ideas!
