I purchased the product named "adding fractions with unlike denominators scavenger hunt", but when I downloaded it, I discovered it was subtracting fractions. You may have the wrong file linked to this description.

Sorry about that. I'll re-upload the correct file so you can redownload it. Looking at the listing, I can't seem to see the screenshots of the file. TpT is supposed to have generated those from the PowerPoint file itself, so if they aren't showing up them there may a problem on their end. Were you able to see the correct screenshots when you viewed the page?

That would be awesome! My kids love a weekly scavenger and never seem to tire of them. Thanks so much. My email address is: kathleen.haynes@usd305.com

And by the way, in your profile you said "My students think I'm awesome, does that count? :)" I think that's the ultimate honor/award/shining moment! Congatulations!! :)

Oh my heck!! I just purchased 5 of your scavengers and THEN found the 10-pack. Any chance you'd send me the other 5? Either way, I love scavengers!

Jennifer Lamb  (TpT Seller) re: Area of Triangles Scavenger Hunt (harder problems)
My own personal opinion is that I can find a lot of straight forward volume problems in the book...you always need more application problems. With that being said though, I do have a volume/surface area problem packet up on TPT :)

Jennifer Lamb  (TpT Seller) re: Area of Triangles Scavenger Hunt (harder problems)
I just wanted to let you know that I featured this activity on my blog as a great activity to use for geometry class. Great work!

Thanks for the mention. And kudos to you for keeping up with a blog while teaching. This Kate in the year I feel like I'm doing good if I don't leave my lunch sitting on the kitchen counter when I leave for work. :)
I'm currently hammering out a volume unit... I wonder though, do you think you'd prefer something like that to be strictly skill practice or would you like more application problems and the like? There is a time for each type of problem, but I'm not sure which one most teachers would want out of something like this.

ksartor re: Super Triangle Brothers - Translations in the Coordinate Plane
I am not able to print the presentation with the coordinate grid behind them. Can you help me out?
February 1, 2013
Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
Sorry for not replying to you sooner. I get so few questions that I forget to click this button very often. I tried to recreate the problem you had and it seems to happen whenever I try to print in greyscale or black and white. For some reason powerpoint doesn't print a slide's background when you print in those modes, and the coordinate grid is the background I used for those slides. I looked online to see if there is a setting for that and it seems that some versions of powerpoint (maybe all of them?) will let you always print the background, although in my powerpoint 2010 I couldn't find that setting. So the only way I'd be able to do it is to print the slides in color.

Jen Jones-Hello Literacy  (TpT Seller) re: Graphs and 3d shapes clipart
I am reading the question and your answer below about using your shapes in products we make and sell on TpT. I'm interested too, to make a geometry assessment. I'm inferring that would be ok. I also need the 2D shapes, circle, rectangle, triangle and hexagon....any chance you could make those too? :-) Thanks, Robert!

Using them in a test or something is perfectly fine. My understanding of the tpt rules is that what wouldn't be okay is to sell in something where the shapes themselves are the main product... Like another pack of shapes. In an assessment, the questions you make using the shapes are the main product.

As for other shapes, I hasn't thought of doing tHat but it's a good idea. I'll see if I can get something done over the holidays.

Debi Gault  (TpT Seller) re: Slope from Graphs Scavenger Hunt
Do the features in Smartboard lessons work with promethean software?
November 10, 2012
Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
I'm not sure that you asked this question in the right spot. The Scavenger Hunts I sell are meant to be printed and used without a smartboard or anything. That being said, I'd imagine that most smartboard lessons would work fine with a promethean. At their core what they both basically do is let you use the screen as the "mouse." For most things it'd be like using a different brand of keyboard or something... they all basically work the same.

Laura Becker  (TpT Seller) re: Graphing Linear Equations Scavenger Hunt 10-Pack
Hey there. Just wanted to let you know that I believe the last slide in the Parallel Lines scavenger hunt should have an answer of -8 and not 3. This is the slide with the picture of the CDs on it.

Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
I'm very sorry if this messed up your lesson, but thanks for letting me know. Trying to get these things done and on the store while teaching AND getting ready for our first baby has been quite a bit more than I anticipated. heh

I'm uploaded a corrected version right now.

Dawn Brailsford Moretta  (TpT Seller) re: Solving Equations (Rewriting Formulas) Scavenger Hunt
I downloaded this lesson. When I opened it one of the slides was not aligned correctly. (Basketball slide) I was able to fix it in order to use it, but thought you might want to know. It may be my version of powerpoint causing the problem. I have had that problem before with other documents.

Thanks!

Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
Hmm, I know that I have an issue with the preview slides not always showing up correctly as well. It seems to happen when I try to make the text as big as possible so it is more readable. It could also be an issue with the Font. I'm just using whatever the default font is in Office 2007, but that font may not be the same one that older version of Office use.
Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully it wont be too much work to fix (although that's unlikely knowing my luck, heh) but I'll look into it.

Ralynn Ernest  (TpT Seller) re: Graphs and 3d shapes clipart
Hi, I am a fellow TpT Seller. If I purchased this, could I use these images in works that I create and sell?
February 29, 2012
Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
I don't see why not. I sort of had the same question in relation to clip art and I found something in the TpT that basically said you can use clip art in things that you sell as long as the clip art isn't the primary focus of whatever it is you put up for sale. So you could use my shapes in a worksheet or activity, but something like just recoloring them and selling them yourself probably wouldn't be okay.
I'm not a lawyer, and as a teacher I'm too busy to spend time on here checking for that kind of stuff anyway. heh.

Long story short: Go ahead and use it to make new stuff with! :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to do that for me!! The students had so much fun!

Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
I'm glad it worked out for you! My teaching experience is limited to middle and high school math so if there is any topics you'd like that don't fit in there then please let me know. I don't know how quick I can get them done since our state math tests are looming on the horizon, but I'll do what I can. :)

Amy Ballou  (TpT Seller) re: Adding Fractions Scavenger Hunt
Thank you for getting back to me. I can see the animals and different cards. I can now see that it is a powerpoint. I think that the problem is that it tries to open in the 2007 version and I have the 2003 version. None of the options are able to be clicked on (copy, cut, paste, print...nothing)...
January 24, 2012
Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
That's odd... I assumed that older versions of powerpoint would at least be able to print the files. I made a powerpoint 2003 version of it just now though and switched it out with the one that was on my page. Try re-downloading it and see if the new one will print. (the new one should have a .ppt at the end instead of .pptx)

Amy Ballou  (TpT Seller) re: Adding Fractions Scavenger Hunt
I would love to be able to do this with my students but when I try to print it's not letting me...I maily use Microsoft Word 2003...any suggestions?
Thank you,
Amy
January 23, 2012
Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
This is a Powerpoint file, so Word shouldn't be able to open it. I like using powerpoint to make worksheets because it is easier to move pictures and stuff around than with Word. Are you able to open the file and see the different slides? If you can see what it looks like then you can try print preview to see if anything comes up. What exactly happens when you do try to print it?

Amy Ballou  (TpT Seller) re: Algebra Tiles Animated Presentation
Hi, I love the powerpoint...however, the last couple slides don't seem to match the visual...I wasn't sure if it was my computer or not...
October 24, 2011
Robert Duncan  (TpT Seller)
Sorry for the late reply. I made that one quite a long time ago and I may have accidentally uploaded a version that I had started to change and never finished. I'll check it out and upload a correct version.
