TEACHING EXPERIENCE

4 years teaching Algebra/Geometry in High school 4 Years teaching pre-AP Algebra and 8th grade math in middle school

MY TEACHING STYLE

Technology heavy teaching style. I made my own virtual whiteboard with a Wii remote and I use powerpoint presentations and things like the eInstruction remotes all the time.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My students think I'm awesome, does that count? hehe And the old saying about always a bridesmaid and never a bride applies to me and the teacher of the year voting at my school. They like me enough to keep putting me on the ballot, but I never seem to win. Personally I think it's because I'm in a portable building and they think less of me because of that. :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BS in Math from the University of Texas

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Native Houstonian who is back home teaching math to at-risk kids. This is definitely NOT what I saw myself doing when I was a student, but I love every minute of it.
