I break the unit into multiple parts. It contains three large PowerPoints that are then broken into smaller areas of focus. A bundled homework package and lots of worksheets follow the slideshow. Daily lesson plans would be moving through the slideshow. The slideshow contains hands-on activities, quizzes, video links and more built-into them. They are the lesson plan and easy to follow / plan for. There are natural breaks. I've used them for 50 min lessons and block scheduling. Both have worked. Thanks again.

I do use a layering slide technique that sometimes requires you to do a bit more work when making many changes. Each unit does have a modified version of the homework bundle that is a nice starting place for making individual accommodations. Most units also come with a flashcard set that is helpful. I agree, Images make the presentation. I don't have a single place but search everywhere possible. A lot of universities will have places to grab pictures that don't appear to be right protected. There are also personal science and nature blogs that are subject related where people freely post pictures. I wish there was one place but each subject requires a lot of time and searching. Thanks for the positive comment. I try and make sure all images appear to be in the public domain / don't have any copyright protection to them. All videos are just links to places on the internet which I believe isn't a violation for me. The places the links take the teacher may be a copyright violated videos / etc on YouTube. Not sure how get to "approval". That might be something worth exploring. Deep in my core I believe the major educational companies are in violation for producing such horribly boring materials. I don't think death by boredom carries a large $ penalty in education. Thanks again and best wishes.

I teach in Ohio and we have adopted the new science standards. I teach 6th grade and am relatively new to teaching science (math is my specialty). Some of your material seems geared for higher grade levels. Thanks for the question ans sorry for the delayed response. My internet provider decided this weekend to drop me back to 1996 speeds. Most of my physical science units (3) are 8th, 9th, and 10th. I do have a science skills unit that I group into physical science that I run in the 6th/7th grade. I plan on spending a lot of time in the early part of summer with the new science standards. I am planning on taking my physical science curriculum and making a grade appropriate version for the 5th/6th grade. I should have this ready before August (just a goal at this point). The unit does but not in a huge amount of detail. I can send you the DNA and Genetics Unit and Cell Biology Unit so you can look it over. The cell biology unit covers translation in greater detail than in the DNA Unit. You could easily copy and paste. I run these units at the end of the 8th grade. They work well at this level and perhaps early HS as they are challenging for my 8th graders. You would need to email me at ryemurf@gmail.com so I can send the units to your email for download. I can't send a file for download to your username. I'm not really worried about $ just excited that someone at TpT is interested in non elementary school science. Thanks again and best wishes.

My apologies for the delayed response. Today was town meeting day for our school and I was extremely busy preparing some PowerPoints for some very serious items on the ballot. I am usually much faster at answering questions.
Everything should work fine with your smartboard, but the technology will be PowerPoint and word documents. That is, there aren't built in smartboard features. There are a few activities that I call dummy board where the teacher moves around .jpegs after minimizing out of slideshow like a smartboard. The best thing to do would be to send the curriculum to your email to see if everything works. My school computer is less than ideal these days and I am able to work with it as long as I am delicate in the opening / running of many things at once. I would need your email as I can't send the curriculum to your username for download. If it works fine and looks like something you want then you can always revisit check-out. Thanks again and sorry for the delay.

The first part that deals with Carbon reservoirs can be skipped if your students appear lost. The memorizing of the equations seems harder for the kids at first. White boards work well. If you print up the notes / limit note taking and provide a digital copy to the students it can make the units less challenging. These units would be the best fit w/o any modifications.

In this case, you will need to download the video the night before and save them as a file and bring them into class. You can use YouTube Downloader http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ or other programs to download these videos in any number of compatible formats for your computer. Downloading and organizing the videos also insures that they will be available next year if the video is removed from the internet. Do you have a Powerpoint for sale that covers these three topics in one presentation? Your flowers and fruits presentation covers the parts of the flower, but that's the only part that I would need for my kids.

I ditched the textbooks early in my career and opted for students to create their own textbooks with use of a learning journal. I began converting everything I was doing into a super charged form of PowerPoint. I have posted 20 different science units in Life, Earth, and Physical Science, and hundreds of smaller posting which are just small parts of these 20 units. The units use elaborate PowerPoint Presentations to deliver important notes, direct lab activities, provide follow-up questions, prompts for videos, and includes assessments, modified assessments, class notes, and answers to the assessments for support staff. My use of PowerPoint is high energy, with as much interaction between students and teacher as possible. I don't give the students anything for free, and they must engage to move one. Great thought questions, meaningful activities that reinforce instruction, tons of review opportunities, exciting video shorts, projects and much more are built right into the slideshow. I consider how students learn rather than just bullet listing facts. I use color coded text so students can focus on one point at a time. Everything is as visual as possible and presented in a step by step process. Most importantly, the activities and discussions that emerge from the slideshows are incredibly meaningful. Detailed unit notes with visuals follow each PowerPoint slideshow for students who require assistance and support staff. A bundled homework package and modified version also follows the slideshows for nightly review. I have 35,000 + slides over 20 full units of study that have been constantly improved every year. These units are the products of 10 years of trial in an incredibly busy and challenging classroom environment. I wouldn't post a unit that hasn't worked wonders for me and my students.
