May I ask how your students were able to do their research for the Total Cost Chart & Graph and the Floor Plan. Did they make up the floor plan and costs or did they actually find a space and actual numbers somewhere. My students are getting ready to start this and I'm afraid I don't know enough of what to expect of them. Any help you could give would help!

Great question. The total cost chart is a concept introduced in my textbook, but I have created numbers for the students to use in this project. Realistic total product numbers will only exist if my students physically created and sold the product. I suggest they use the same total product as provided, but they modify the numbers equally to address a low equilibrium price (multiply all TP numbers by ~10) or a large EP (divided by ~10). Once they complete this entire chart, then they can graph the data. Regarding the floor plan, I give my students the freedom to create whatever size they wish. Once they have a floor plan, then this will become the square footage for the fixed cost on the total cost chart. I hope this helps.

What subject do you use this for and when in the class do you use it. I am teaching a marketing course for the first time this year and would like to use this. However, it is only the second week of school for us. Chapter 2 (the chapter I'm covering right now) introduces the marketing plan, but I feel like maybe your project is more detailed and may need to be done near the end of a course. Thank you!

Thanks for the question. This product was created for my Economics students but might be a perfect fit for your students too. The project begins with survey questions usually explained by the law of demand but teaching about supply and demand can easily be removed. I then introduce supply curves so students can establish a selling price which is used for their ads, floor plans, and commercials. Have your students relate to The Shark Tank and their creativity will surprise you.

I purchased and downloaded your Legislative Bill to Law Project but I think you may have accidentally uploaded the wrong project because the project has nothing to do with Legislative Bills but rather is a Campaign Election project. Can I get the correct project please?

I'm extremely interested in this project however I was hoping to see a preview I could download. I find the sample images are hard to really understand. I was wondering if you could put up a preview. Also, I teach at a private school that does one on one schooling. How easily adaptable is the project for a student who will do a presentation but to teachers and not her peers. Thank you.

Thanks for your interest in this product. I have used this product in classes, but it is also easily modified for a student to complete and present on their own. Since they will not have classmates to survey, they can always use social media if they desire. I will update the preview as well. Thanks for your question!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been fortunate to teach Social Science (Economics, Civics, US History, Geography) for over ten years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style of teaching is more conversational with the students. While direct instruction has its place, I try to interact with students as much as possible as a basic check for understanding. I believe projects have a great role in the curriculum in assessing the students and they allow students the opportunity to practice new skills.
