This is my 16th year as an elementary school teacher. I started my teaching career in a 2nd grade classroom for two years and then spent one year in 1st grade. There is a special place in heaven for those teachers, one year was enough. However, I found my true calling as a 3rd grade teacher. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!
I think kids need to get messy as they learn. They need to take chances and make mistakes. Sounds like I am channeling my inner Ms, Frizzle! I like to incorporate art, music, and games into my lessons as much as possible.

I received my Bachelors from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and my Masters from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
I am the mother of four amazing children. My oldest is 26. He was once one of my students and eventually became my son when he was put up for adoption. I also have a 17 year old and a 14 year old son. My youngest, Daisy, was born with Down Syndrome She is the light of our lives. Life has been very good to me.
