I wondered if you followed your math series or just taught the CCSS with the series as a resource. What series are you using? I like the way you revisited some of the objectives in each assessment. I am using Envision Math and it teaches a skill one day and never goes back to review or build on.

We teach the CCSS first and use the textbook as a resource. We are piloting Math in Focus and MY Math this year and will purchase at the end of the school year. Our teachers paced out each standard. Knowing the students and how much of a shift this is, some skills we really hit more on to solidify that foundation.

No I don't because there's only words for the first 8 themes after that its just a review. I've been swamped but ill work on it and see what I can do. Do you want the same format? It's cut out words to practice at home, the student practice sheet, and assessments.

Hi Gloria, Send me your email address and I'll send you her contact information. We've had a rough transition with LBD. We created the thinking maps to make it more student friendly and to help with comprehension. For first grade, we've had to do a lot of supplementing with phonemic awareness because that's not a strength of the LBD program and our students were lagging behind.

I will have the 1st grade word work pack complete by the end of June. It's over 200 pages now. It's very similar to the kinder pack, the only difference is that it's aligned to the 1st grade words. I have Thinking Maps for grades 3-5 for all 16 themes. The LBD thinking maps aren't kid friendly. A colleague of mine did all the Thinking Maps for K-2 but I don't think she's posted hers yet.

Your math resource looks great, but with Common Core in NC, we are not allowed to show our kids math problems vertically. All of our problems have to be shown horizontally and taught that way. I'm not sure if other states are the same or not.

No, we used it as we were doing practice assessments and as friendly reminders during quizzes/tests. Everything had to be cleared off their desk during the state assessment. We aren't allowed to have any content/strategies posted during the actual state assessment. The desk charts were just a friendly reminder to use their strategies and remain focused while preparing for the OAA.
