Erin Waters  (TpT Seller) re: Glitter Theme Daily 5 & CAFE Posters
Hello! Your products are so fantastic and we'd love you to be a part of a new charity store we are opening. A girl at our school has been diagnosed with a rare brain disease in which the white matter is slowly destroying her brain. Ellie is a huge girly girl and has SUCH a positive attitude & spirit and has thus dubbed the destructive white matter in her brain as "Glitter Matter." Because of this, an organization in our community has been created called Glitter Matters. You can see more of Ellie's story here: http://www.glittermatters.com. Christina Mauro (Tale of 2 K Teachers) and I are opening a TPT store called Glitter Matters and are recruiting sellers to donate glitter-themed items to be a part of a bundle that will be on sale at Glitter Matters. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Ellie toward research and treatment of her disease. Amy has agreed to promote our store once it is up and running, as other similar stores have seen such great success! We would love for you to be a contributor of a glitter-themed product for our bundle! If you are interested, please e-mail me a simple "yes" or "no" at erinwaterstpt@gmail.com and we will keep you posted on further steps. Thank you! :)

Karen M. re: Story Problem Task Cards / Journal Prompts Bundle for August - May
Hi,
I downloaded your story problems task cards in the bundle. (A zipped file) I don't have a problem opening the file..I have a mac...however when i try to print them the writing does not print. Is that because it is encrypted and if so how do I take care of that?
Thanks so much,
Karen

I am so glad that you enjoyed using my set! It was really a labor of love and something I use in my own classroom every week. I would love to make a set for 3rd - 4th but the last set took me about 6 months to create! I have a set started, maybe this is the push I need to get it completed! Thank you!! :)

Jamie R. re: Meet the Teacher Chevron Style
What did you do for the "Students ONLY" sign?
August 14, 2013
Second Grade Math Maniac  (TpT Seller)
This year I had students put their names with stickers on them on two different graphs. On the first graph they chose their favorite subject, on the second graph they chose their favorite type of book to read. I liked this because it didn't take a lot of time and gave me some insight before they ever came to school. In the past I have had them fill out an "All About Me" sheet but this took a little bit of time. I may eventually add something to the packet to use so thank you for bringing it to my attention! :)

Cindy H.
Casey,I guess I wasn't too clear describing my needs. I needed each one of those to be a separate label. On pg. 1, leave math Tub 1 and take off Games and Listening Center. Games and Listening Center (on pg.2)each need to have their own label. On pg. 3, take off iPads and just leave Mah tub 2. On pg.4, take of Computer/Notebooks. computers/Notebooks need to have their own label. On Math Tub 4, take off Story Problem Writing Center. It, too, needs to have its own label. So all in all, I need to have 9 seoarate labels. If this is too much trouble, please tell me and I will forget it. I promise to continue to be a good customer. With much thanks, cmathclass ckhart@suddenlink.net

Do you sleep?
My inbox is basically empty, now. My end of the message says that the file is too big to send. I don't know enough about that, but is there any way you can post them on a site and I can download them from there? Cindy H. re: Daily Math Center Signs
Hope the beginning of your school year is going well. I can't even imagine being on a whole year school calendar. It probably doesn't give you enough time to rest and get things done. That being said, will you still have time to make those editable pages for me from your math rotation cards. I feel guilty even asking you to do this. Sorry and again thanks for all you do to make life simpler for other teachers. math class ckhart@sudddenlink.net

Love your printables! This is a silly question, but do you just print these on stock card paper and laminate?

Thank you!

Thanks Kelly! I actually just printed the little stand up signs onto regular paper and glued them to a piece of construction paper. Then I stood them up using the easel. We have meet the teacher at the end of the year and funds were low! I printed everything else on regular paper as well. :)

Heather, Thanks for the question! I do not have the task cards in a bundle yet, I am going to put them in one when I complete the whole year. That is actually my goal for this month to get them all done. I ran out of inspiration after the April cards. If you follow my store then you will get a notification as soon as I post them, or I can shoot you an -email. :)

Thanks!

Cindy H. re: Daily Math Center Signs
I love all of your work and could really use these math center signs on my math rotation board. Would it be possible for you to make a couple of editable pages that have the 4 frames on them? You have included the large signs, but not editable 4 frame pages. I also use games and math tubs and that would make my math rotation board uniform. I would appreciate this. Mathclass

I have Story Problem Task Cards for October but not for September yet. They focus on basic math skills for second graders so I wouldn't think that they would be too different from what you are teaching in Texas. The problems range from very simple to very challenging. I will be posting May - Sept. as soon as I have a little extra time on my hands to do so. Let me know if you have any further questions. :)

This may be where you wanted the email once we left feedback? I'm a little groggy today-- need more coffee. They really are cute.

By the way--I have read that a few bloggers have asked for better feedback on items. Is mine good enough? I'm trying to add more what I can use things for on my feedback and I know how important feedback is to the seller. I added what I wrote and hope it provides more than just a simple "thanks" or "cute". Have a great day! Shari essjayneal@gmail.com

Hey again! Please check the birthday cakes- there are 12 cakes total instead of 9(4+4+4=12). Also check the groups of balloons- there are 5 total instead of 7 (1+1+1+1+1=5).
April 1, 2013
Second Grade Math Maniac  (TpT Seller)
I apologize, again! I uploaded an unedited version of the file. Thank you so very much. :)
April 6, 2013

Hey! I am so sorry, but I found several mistakes on the Birthday Array Match Game. In other units on TPT, the repeated addition sentence for 2 rows of 3 (ice cream cones) would be 3+3=6. The birthday cakes show 3 rows of 4 and should say 4+4+4=12. The cupcakes show 4 rows of 5 and should say 5+5+5+5=20. The one row of balloons is confusing because there are 3 in each group, but the sum of the repeated addition sentence should be 5 instead of 7. The boys show 2 rows of 4 and should say 4+4=8. I think these activities will be a wonderful addition to my unit. Thanks so much!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for bringing this my attention. I don't know what was going on in my mind when I made this. I made the necessary corrections and uploaded the corrected version. I am so appreciative that you took the time to send me a Q/A about this. I am going to stand by the ice cream comes and the boys though because I teach my students to write equations for both the rows and the columns. I think that it is important that they see that there are two addition (and later multiplication equations for each grouping of objects. Thank you again! :)

Since there are 36-38 weeks in a school year, will there be Mystery Number of the Week sets added for those weeks beyond #24? I would like to purchase a full year.

I will be creating at least two more Mystery Number of the Week sets.. I started creating them during my second quarter this year on an as needed basis for my own classroom. I am shooting to be finished with it in July, which is when my school year begins. :)

Scoot is super fun and a great way to review any basic concept. I found a link to some clear directions here: http://sunnydaysinsecondgrade.blogspot.com/2011/11/scoot.html

I am in the process of adding direction pages to my SCOOT games. I mistakenly assumed that everyone played it. :)

Thank you for your question! I hope this helps.

Shaye C. re: Take Home Math Kits: 24 Games for Students and Their Families
I would love to incorporate something like this to build the home/school connection. I know the games are aligned to 2nd grade standards but do you feel they are also suitable for 1st graders? Without seeing the objectives for each game, it is hard for me to know if they are appropriate in 1st grade. Thanks so much! :)

I honestly do feel that most of the games could be played by first graders, especially during the 3rd and 4th quarters. Hi,
Re: your take home math games...more than a third of my students are Spanish speaking. Any chance each game could be in Spanish too? A suggestion is to run them through Google translate, then have someone proof read. It cuts down on the time they have to translate.

My kids really enjoyed the October problem task cards. It was perfect for Halloween! I liked the complexity of some of the problems, and that there were a mix of challenge problems. There were a just couple minor typos. I would suggest the Spidey glove problem say single gloves, because then the child must figure out how many pairs of gloves need to be bought- my kids were unclear if the problem wanted single or pairs of gloves. It was a lot of fun, thanks for putting it up on the site. I appreciate the graphics you chose weren't overly "cutesy". :)

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Thank you for your suggestions, I genuinely appreciate your honest feedback on my products! I am going to review my October cards once again for typos. My students also had trouble with the glove problem.

I would love to tackle translating the math games into Spanish but it will take me awhile. It will probably be December before I am able to spend some real time on them as I have a lot going on right now. I will see what I can do! :)

Buyer re: Mystery Number of the Week Set 2 in Black and White
Hi,

I live in Hillsborough, NC! Nice to see your great work on line! I had trouble downloading Reading Genres tonight on my Mac. Do you think I would have any problems printing these Mystery Number sets? I'm looking for daily math routine materials, I teach second grade in Durham.

Thanks for posting! :) Linda

Buyer re: Fun with Frogs and Fractions
We love this lesson!
Our 2nd grade teachers will be using this for part of our fraction unit.
Is it okay if we download and repost this document on our district site for teachers to access?
Thanks!

Alison Kan  (TpT Seller) re: Daily 5 BINGO Recording Sheet
This is great! Do you have directions that go with some of the activities?

Thanks for the question Alison, but sadly I do not have directions for these activities. I posted this during 3rd quarter last year and the activities were all things that we had practiced but I didn't really have anything beyond a note card for most of them. If you have a question about a specific station then I can try and clarify for you! :)

Nena P. re: Crazy Cat Addition Fact Game 2.NBT.5
Hi, I have purchased the crazy cat addition fact game, and the cats are adorable. I love it. However, my sums don't seem to match up with the equations. I have 24, 100, 46, 50, 92, 34, and 56 with no matching equation. Some of the other sums have 2 matching equations. Since, I have already printed two sets and laminated them, could you post a separate page of equations to match these? (Don't make me reprint what I've already done. Does that make sense?) Maybe I'm just tired and not adding right. Thanks for your help.

Hi! I am so sorry that you went through the trouble of laminating something that was wrong! I have corrected the problem and re-posted the Crazy Cats Addition Fact Game. You should only have to print page 5. If this does not solve your problem, please let me know. Alternatively, if you e-mail me I can send you a copy of only page 5 in a pdf, if this would work better for you.

Thank you for being specific as to which numbers were incorrect, this was very helpful in fixing the problem!

I would like to give you a free product for your trouble. If you e-mail me at secondgrademathmaniac@yahoo.com with the title of the listing of your choice then I will send it directly to you. Thank you again.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my fourth year teaching second grade! I have taught all second grade subjects but math is my passion. This year I am team teaching so I teach math, science, and social studies to two classes of second graders!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy teaching math so much that last year I participated in a year long professional development on math discourse. In my classroom we spend our math time talking to each other about our strategies, our successes and our struggles. We may spend our entire lesson on just ONE problem! I also use a modified form of Daily 5 Math.
