TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been working as an outdoor education instructor since I was 16 (10 years!), have worked in a high school as a graduate student in a GK-12 program called WATERS, and am now a Community College instructor teaching Earth Science and other intro science courses. I am very good at research and writing, I think...

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach by using several different learning styles. Whenever I do a lab, I try to always add a background so that the student knows exactly why they are about to do something. I am also very interested in how different disciplines interact. What you will notice when looking over my work is that, though the background is science, I always try and attach it to some political or societal significance. Also, I am extremely intrigued by regionally significant education because I think students can get more out of science if they know how it affects them and their world. So, you will notice that I have a lot of thing that are particularly impostant to the Pacific Northwest USA.
