kristawoodyard re: Dolch Mini Dictionary
I just purchased. I have a printer that prints 2 sided. This file downloaded as a zip and every page is a new doc. I need this as one document name so I can print 2 sided. Could you email that to me?

Hi Krista: I don't have it in front of me but I think, with four letters to a page an the few extras I added, about 10 pages. And a cover. I believe you can easily create a class set ( depending on size of course) with about half a package of legal size paper and staple it in the centre with 3 staples (it's stronger than 2).

I think

Do you have a list of the vocabulary used to generate the pictures? Instructions indicate they are based on the 50 vocabulary cards but I don't know where that came from. Thank you.

Hi

I bought your mini dictionary. How do I found the additional free download with added suggestions for its use?

Thanks!

Hello mdenge36

Thanks for purchasing my Dolch Mini Dictionary. You are the first buyer for this product as is it new, and I hadn't had time to write and post the Suggestions for Use at the time I posted it. However, I have now posted that document and it is free. So you can "go and get it!" now.

Thanks again and Have the Best Day Ever!

Common Core Connection
Common Core Connection  (TpT Seller) re: The Bad Cat Smartboard lesson on Short vowel a and Dolch Words
Hi, I enjoyed your product. I was able to confidently give it a perfect rating. Thanks for sharing!

I just listed a new type of Sight Word PowerPoint for Kindergarten and First Grade. It is listed under First 50 Sight Words PowerPoint. It includes the words in isolation and within the context of sentences with picture support. I wondered if you might consider taking a look at the free 4 slide preview to see if it might be something you could use. Thanks! Anne Gardner

What are the genres that are covered?
Is it possible to get a version that just uses plain lines instead of dotted paper?

Hi Donna: Sorry this reply took longer than I would have liked but I am in China at the moment doing some educational consulting so my time is not always my own! Some of the genres are magic, under the sea, animals, dinosaurs, famous Canadians, Famous Anericans, Adventure, Humour, etc. I will make a non-dotted version when I have time but for now, I suggest that perhaps you could white-out the dots (or even all the lines and leave blank or redraw) before you make all your copies. Thanks for asking and if you buy the bundle, I hope they are of use to you. And may I suggest that you also visit my teaching materials website www.sharperteaching.com. There may be something there to interest you, as well.

Best regards, Sharron

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for over forty years. My experience as a teacher includes elementary school, junior high, ESL in China and Taiwan to all ages (including two-year-olds!)ESL to Adults and Adult Literacy. I have also filled the posts of Modern Languages Coordinator for seven years, an administrator, curriculum writing, computer and curriculum resource teacher. I have also done designing and preparing teaching materials od all kinds, and was a product presenter and teacher trainer for Pearson Ed in Asia. I have a varied background of experience as you can see. While in China, I was involved in writing curriculum, teacher training and preparing teaching materials for use with the SmartBoard. As you might imagine, I have learned "what works", both through research and "procedural knowledge". My personal goal for student success is this: "100% of the students 100% engaged, 100% of the time". That is my responsibility.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe there is a time for all styles of teaching. I mostly favor a "hands on" approach, especially for young children, but I combine all styles as needed. I am especially interested in Gardner's "Multiple Intelligences" theory of learning and try to incorporate that notion whenever I am planning lessons, materials and training sessions. My watchword is, "no one likes to be bored!" and my goal is "100% of students 100% engaged, 100% of the time." Learning should be fun, but well-planned and implemented. I am passionate about teaching through literature. I believe that most of life's important lessons can be learned this way. Yes...even for math and science.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have co-authored two supplementary French readers to accompany the EFSL (French as a second language) series, Aventures. (Copp-Clark Longman)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor of Education, majoring in Language Arts and Library and a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies from the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, Canada.
