I think 2nd graders would enjoy the poem and the poetry activities. The poem focuses on words with blends. I think the stations would be a great way to reinforce a skill or a great way to review it. Either way, I think your 2nd graders would enjoy it but all classes are different! Hope that helps!

Sheila, thanks for your quick response. I have solved the mystery. At home, I use an Apple computer and apparently the OpenOffice program I use to view PowerPoints rotates some of the arrows. When I went to school today, using a Dell computer and PowerPoint, all is perfect! The arrows are facing the right direction. Mystery solved! All is well and it will be a great resource to my lessons. Thank you.

I just purchased the Power Point and it looks like it's going to be a perfect addition to my unit. I did notice that some of the slides have arrows facing in the wrong direction. Are you able to flip them so they face the right direction? The arrows are on p. 15, 24-30. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The arrows are correct. The arrows show the transfer of "energy." For example, on p.15, the sun gives energy to the grass so it can grow, the grass gives energy to the ladybug when eaten, the ladybug gives energy to the lizard when eaten, and so on. The arrows do not show what eats what in a food chain. Hope that helps! :)

Hmmm...I'm not sure. Try deleting the PowerPoint from your files and downloading it again from TpT. Hopefully, that helps. I haven't had any other customers not able to open it so that's weird. You could also contact TpT technical support...they are really awesome about solving technical problems. Hope that helps!

I like your style and the versatility of the 4 options per design. I didn't notice that this file is editable and wondered if it could be. I much prefer to input my text (the remainder of the "I can" statement) using fonts, not my handwriting. Also, if I'm able to type up the "I can" statements, I can do the work once and then just modify for each standard. Not only does it save time, but the final product just looks better.
I've seen other sellers provide editable files where they create their product in a PowerPoint and lock their format to protect their work. But they insert a text box which allows the purchaser some flexibility. So I'm wondering if creating this with an editable text box allowing the purchaser to type (rather than hand write) on the card might be something you'd be willing to consider? Thanks.

I would like to use your build the sentence activities but not sure which words are in DOlch --I found a and it in Dolsh one I purchased--do you have the other words in other build the sentence activities--ill find the curriculum these specific words are form tomorrow--it might it is a specific reading program that is an intervention--it might help others

Thank you for updating the units. I think having the word cards as part of your units will be wonderful. Especially the way you have them on the template. The only addition I need when using your lessons are the word cards and photos without words. I can use them for language, phonics, sorting, memory (lotto), reading, writing, speech, OT etc. The units we are purchasing are plant parts, land forms, solids liquids, living non living. The sentence builders and spelling mats are other activities I will use to reinforce the content vocabulary-- thanks again

I will use your units to help with accomodating my sons learning goals in science. He has Down syndrome and the way you bring pictures and words together with matching and sorting perfectly match the learning profle of students with Down syndrome.

I'll work on getting the word cards created and I'll upload a revised unit. I have tons of pictures already saved so I could create a unit that simply matches pictures to words, possibly in different categories (animals, food, weather, etc.) I hope they are helpful!

4th graders still love writing about fun stuff like hot chocolate!
A few ideas:
~Practice adjectives as they describe the perfect cup of hot chocolate.
~Compare/contrast hot chocolate and hot cocoa (there IS a difference!)
~Research and write about the history of hot chocolate...where does it come from? How long have people been drinking it?
~Write out the steps to their favorite hot chocolate recipe
~Send one of the templates home and have the student write down their favorite family holiday recipe. Collect all the recipes, make copies and bind them in a book to pass out on the last day of school before Christmas break. I've done this in the past and the students loved it!

Love your product. I am actually a seller at TPT. I have several questions. Where do you get the dotted lines frames? The other question is how did you get to put your product on TPT? I have been trying to put in a product but it tells me that the file is too large. I put on zip drive, I also put it pdf, and nothing seem to work. It is a power point with 7 slides. I love hands-on, engaging materials for my kids. We use a lot of manipulatives and I try to always use materials with lots of color. I also love using real life pictures as much as I can...especially in science! I want kids to learn about the world around them as it actually looks!

I'm a Texas Teacher and have previously taught 4th grade math/science and 1st grade. 4th grade and 1st grade are completely different worlds but equally challenging and rewarding! I am currently not in a classroom so that I can just "be a mom" to my own 3 children ages 15, 12 and 6. I love being a teacher but I LOVE being a mom even more! I plan on returning to teaching one day but, for now, I am so fortunate to have TpT in my life so that I have this opportunity! :)
