When you code a final stable syllable you put a bracket around the last three letters. If a vowel is next to the bracket it will almost always say its name. I tell my kids that the vowels are scared of brackets so they scream their name if they aren't protected by a consonant. Does that make sense? It's hard to explain without showing you! If that doesn't make sense let me know and I can email you a document where I show you examples.

Hi, I graduated from Cuba in 1986. I have been teaching out here in Pasadena CA for 9 years. I teach at Hamilton Elementary. Our website is bobcatbuzz.com. I actually live in Burbank and drive about 15 minutes to Pasadena. It's like driving from Cuba to Canton, not bad. I know that Cuba and Valley now share sports teams. Although, I haven't really been back to see the games yet. My good friends used to go to Valley, but in the 80's.

Next week, we are going to have some fun learning about bats. I have modified the units to work for my class, and loved the ease of the pre-made organizers. Are you printing from a Mac or Dell? If so, download the new Adobe Reader or try printing from a PC or other computer. For some reason printing off a Dell or Mac can mess up the files. If this still doesn't solve your problem let us know and we will see what else we can do to fix it!!

Hello, I just purchased your product and printed out the 3 pictures for the science strands to create a science notebook for my students. Unfortunately, the patterns and cycles picture keeps printing with a black ink streak under the word cycles and from the clouds across to the side of the page. It happened both times I printed it. It does not show that in the picture. Can you help me get this from happening? Love your product!

UPDATE!!! I looked through the site and found this:
If the file you purchased is not opening for you at all, it's likely because you do not have the right application to open it! For example, to open ZIP FILES on a PC, you need something like WINZIP (http://www.winzip.com/trialpay.htm) to open it. If you have the old version of Microsoft Office but purchased a DOCX file or a PPTX file, you just need to download and install the converter here (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3). If you don't recognize the file extension on the file you purchased, do a Google search for "How to open a .notebook file" for example.
You can try the FAQ as well.

I saw your posting on the Sellers Forum page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your store and a couple of your freebies. My first thought on one of your freebies was that it was only one page with no directions or clip art and therefore would have trouble competing with other free resources offered by TPT sellers.
Here are a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products. First, make a cover page for EVERY product you create which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers, even if it is only a one page resource. Add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also, number your pages.
It is important that we see what others are doing; so, feel free to look at any or all of my freebies listed below to gather some ideas. If you care to, a rating or any feedback you might have would be great.

Sure!! One other person had this problem with a different file and tried printing using Adobe Reader. Shelli created this and I'm sure it is on her home computer. She will be returning from vacation in the next couple days. We can send it to you as soon as she gets home. If you need it Monday and she is not able to send it Monday, let me know and I can see if TPT will refund your money. SO SO SO sorry you are having trouble!!!!!! I am going to call Shelli as soon as I get off the computer to see what we can do!!
