I have been teaching Biology at Rancho Cucamonga High School, in Rancho Cucamonga, since 1999 to present. I am currently part-time to stay home and care for my to young boys. I love world of Biology and hold a B.S. in Biology. I also have an M.A. in Education from Claremont Graduate University. My school’s science curriculum began at an integrated approach but has transitioned into a straight Biology program. In saying that, I have many curricular assignments & activities that span the science disciplines.
My approach to biology & it’s disciplines is very hands-on. I believe in ‘playing’ with science before ‘doing’. I want my students to have an activity that peeks interests before the lecturing. My curriculum is based on California State Standards from 9-10the grade. My style overall is to have fun learning the fascinating world of science while being prepared at a college level. My classes are college-prep, so there are writing components along with labs I will be presenting here on TpT.
Over the last ten years, my STAR scores have been the top in my discipline at my school. I am very proud to say that I get my students reading, writing, and critically thinking about science to be prepared to take our State Standardized Tests. Besides the testing, I do have many students return as seniors wanting advise on the path they should take in science in college.
I have an A.S. in Science, B.S. in Biological Science and an M.A. in Education.
I am eager to share my activities with you in TpT…enjoy!!!!
