Hi Sheri,

I'm excited to use your product, but I noticed that you did not include a rubric. Do you have one available that you can send to me? It might be helpful to include one for future downloads.

Thanks,

Zack

Hi Zack...Thanks for the purchase. I do have a simple rubric that I use. I will email it to you if you send me your email address. I guess I should add that to the product...huh! If you have any other questions or concerns, or are looking for anything else, let me know!

Does it have to be PowerPoint - could I change the directions to include the name of the tool we'll be using?

Yes...you definitely could. You could use this as a traditional research paper or a video montage, etc. The assignment is based on the information the student needs to find out and report on. The way in which it is reported is not exclusive. I hope you enjoy it!

It will work, yes, but the names of some of the tools, such as Autoshapes is now called Shapes, etc. It is the same lesson plan I used for the previous version of Word but I just went through and changed a little bit of the wording to make more sense using the new version. It would only take a few minutes to change it back if you wanted to use it. I hope this helps.

Sheri, which version of Word is your Unit based on? Does it teach students to use the new "ribbon" format?

Oh my goodness...I just saw this question! Talk about late...sorry. My lessons are based on the Mac 2004 version of MS Office...however, I just started using the new version...so I can update anything...I plan to go through all of my lessons and revise if needed. It would be a great idea to do a lesson on using the new format specifically though. I think I will! If you are interested in seeing what I come up with or giving me some feedback, I would love it. My email is svickers@hjuhsd.k12.ca.us...I will send it to you for free if you email me and ask!

There are 8 lessons. Some of them will take more than one class period to complete. If you decide to buy them and need any help with them, please feel free to ask. My email is svickers@hjuhsd.k12.ca.us. Thanks for looking! I have a few more lessons too...favorites are probably the Unsolved Mysteries PowerPoint and the Dream Room Excel project.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught mainly at a continuation high school throughout my 19 years of teaching experience. I currently teach classes in Computer Applications, our main focus being Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like for my lessons to offer something multi-dimensional. I try to make things fun or interesting but in a way that students still need to use their critical thinking skills.
