Teaching children to be tolerant and understanding of others in their classrooms and communities who may be affected by serious illnesses will no doubt be a major character-builder and hopefully inspire young minds to become future scientific leaders engaged in finding cures for some of the diseases they learn about through our books and through their interactions with persons in their own communities who are advocates or victims of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Cholera and Tuberculosis (TB) or who suffer from poverty and malnutrition.
Throughout her career Sherrie has received many awards and recognition for both her scientific and non-scientific pursuits.
Sherrie has several scientific degrees including an advanced degree in Microbiology.
