Just wanted to know if there was a way to give you some extra feedback about your product. I don't think it would be appropriate to place it in the ratings/comments because it is constructive.

I didn't know that there are two versions of this book. My teaching guide is written for fifth graders, but could be used with sixth grade and possibly with seventh graders who need extra support. This guide is a summary and gives suggestions on how to address reading/comprehension stratagies using the text. There aren't purely recall questions.

Hi. Thank you for considering my product and for your question. The guide is seven pages in length. It is a chapter-by-chapter analysis of the book. Each chapter includes a summary, vocabulary words, and reading strategies that can be taught with that chapter. I have not included general comprehension questions. Some strategies are inference, questioning, prediction, visualization, literary allusion, and schema. This list is not all of them. Integration connections are also part of the guide.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for your inquiry. This is the classic tale of the blind men and the elephant. Each blind man feels a different part of the elephant and thinks that it is a different object (tail = rope). The tale has been rewritten with students each feeling a different part of the elephant. When they work together, though, they understand what they have really encountered. This is followed by a discussion of cooperative / collaborative work and the need of each person to do their part. The pictures are stills with a voice over of me reading the story. University professors have told me that it is almost commercial quality. If you purchase it, and like the product, please rate it. Let me know if you have any more questions.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching in a one room, kindergarten through eighth grade school. I continued working in one or two room facilities for seven years. Eighteen years ago, I took a fifth grade position in a rural, town school. In my current position, I teach reading, language arts, and science. I also tutor students enrolled in the after school program in the areas of reading and math.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is usually filled with students working in groups or on projects. I am the conductor of the learning. As students are working, I am circulating the room - refocusing, answering questions, and giving feedback. Lecture is only used to set the stage and give background knowledge.
