WHAT I DO... I have been a professional actor for 10 years and have had the experience of facilitating educational programs for young performers, directing children's plays, costume designing, and producing films. In the last five years I have nurtured my passion for mentoring and educating by working as a drama teacher with non-profit organizations. In August of 2009, I graduated from Texas Woman's University with a love for literature and a heartfelt desire to enter the public school sector as an English Teacher. As a result of my theatrical background, I bring a unique form of creative instruction to the classroom that caters to every learning style. My energy and passion for teaching creates enthusiastic learners.

WHY I TEACH... Being a teacher is important to me because my passion lies in the social progress of our children. I was educated in a poor community with schools that often lacked adequate text books, qualified personnel, supplies, and technology. Safety was a major concern because gang wars were fought inside school boundaries. Having battled poverty, violence, and environmental injustice makes me acutely aware of the struggles associated with urban adolescence. I am determined to advocate for our children and teach them how to use educational excellence to overcome adverse circumstances.
