It should not be asking for a password to unzip. The file is not password protected, only one file in it is to prevent copying (the preview). If you want, I can email it to you to see if that helps, just send me an email: slpgonewild@gmail.com

I do not :( I use speech folders to communicate with parents what we work on in speech and send homework that has to do with the skill we targeted in therapy, usually an activity that we completed with the lesson.

Karin Bias re: Bear's New Friend: Speech & Language Activities
I bought Bear's New Friend: Speech & Language Activities and plan to use it with a wide range of my speech student. I was wondering do any of your Bear books have pictures of each animal? I have a group of DD students and the pictures would be great for them. I have tried to use google images, but I really don't care for any of them.
Also, what activities ( your material) do you like for 3rd grade language?
Have a great day.

Hi Karin! I just updated the file and added character cards. I had them in the packet for Bear Feels Scared, so it was easy to add :)

I use most of my themed packets across my caseload, differentiating as needed. We have been working a lot of Flying Pigs Figurative Language the past few weeks with their classroom poetry unit. They also really liked the Arctic & Antarctic Animals unit, Sporty Sentences, and they LOVE the Old lady books, so we often use the writing activities with those. The only thing that I can figure out from talking with other people is that the program you are opening it in must think you are trying to edit it, which it is password protected for. I have had luck with opening from another location (not in preview) and with dragging and dropping from the downloads folder onto my documents folder. I hope that helps. I am sorry it always is difficult for you to save my stuff!

Hi,

I am interested in purchasing, especially since I am an SLP in Alaska! However, I was wondering why the penguin was included as an Arctic animal, as they only live in the Southern Hemisphere or the Antarctic region. Although I can easily cut this animal out, I was wondering if you would be modifying any of your materials to reflect this inaccuracy?

Thanks!

Hi! I really love your items and have purchased several with plans to buy more! I was hoping you could help me with some questions I have - I went to Staples to print in color some of things that I purchased and I just about choked at how expensive it was. I compared their prices with all of the competitors and they were all along the same lines pricing-wise. Even my public library charges .50 cents a page! I found one place online that you can upload your files to and they were pretty inexpensive compared to the others but they require that you have to print at least 6 sets of an item so obviously that won't work. Printing sets of things on my home computer just sucks up the ink, especially if it is color so that isn't really an option for me. Along with the printing I want to have everything printed on card stock and laminated. There has to be a cheaper way to do this! I looked at laminating machines and that seems to be a cheaper option but I don't know how well they work. Would you mind telling me how you do your printing and laminating and/or if you know of any cheaper options? I would really appreciate it, I want to start using my 'Ahoy' games! :-)
Thanks!

You're right, ink is super expensive. Most office supply stores have incentive programs that can help with cost, like Staples will give you rewards for bringing in old cartridges to recycle and they often to double and triple rewards. The Best Buy where I live offers "Ink Wednesdays" and all cartridges are 20% off. You just have to keep an eye out for deals...at least that is what I do. I do have my own laminator and I got it for only $20. It is the basic Scotch brand. You can find them at Walmart, Target, etc or online through Amazon or eBay. It works great! I hope that helped a little and that you are able to find some options that work for you!

Thanks for your quick response! I have used Boardmaker all my career to make materials so this would be starting over for me in some ways but I love your stuff so I am inspired. The companies you listed, are they good ones to start with so I don't get into trouble with "terms of use?" I was checking out Digi Web. Would all of their graphics be okay to use for TpT? Thanks for the tip on Word. I use a PC so I will have to play around with things. Thanks again for being so generous with your time and tips!!!!!

Lol, I just happen to be on the computer when I got the email about your question :) Yeah, I really don't use Boardmaker much unless I am doing a schedule or something. The graphics don't appeal to me for activities. You have to read their terms...it is a link on their website. I think they require you to have a link in the document to their site and to acknowledge the artist. You can sell on TPT but you can't giveaway many freebies with theirs. Double check that though. I'm pretty sure most people use Power Point on PC, and I have used it once and it was really easy. Just gotta play around with it a bit. You're welcome!

Hi! I am am fan of your work and was wondering if you might share how you got into doing TpT and where you buy your clip art from. I am interested in breaking into this but haven't figured out the specifics. Would LOVE to hear what has worked well for you! Thanks so much!

That's awesome! You should totally do it! I just started playing around with graphics I got. You can buy them from lots of places...TPT has many people who sell clip art, so you can start here and do a search (its one of the search options). Also, you can check out Etsy, Scrappin Doodles, My Grafico, and Digi Web Studio. Those are some of my favorites. You just have to be really careful and read each sellers' Terms of Use. Some graphics require licenses to giveaway or sell their stuff. It can be kind of confusing at first, but gets easier after you do it more. Also, when creating, don't use Word. Use a program that has text boxes and graphics boxes...much easier to manipulate! I have a Mac, so I use Pages, but Powerpoint is good on a PC. I hope that helps :)
