I had no problem down loading and opening the file, but then unzipped one file says DCStore or something like that and the other 3 wont open in smartboard-message said try saving it in a version 9 or something...which I have no idea how to do and th DS store file wont open at all. does this mean I dont have the software I should have had before I bought this-this has happened 2 other times with purchases (the DS store file) and I just gave up, but I really want this one to work. Any help would be great!

#9 is the Range of the data in the Stem/Leaf plot.
The stem is like the tens column and the leaf is the same as the ones column.
We find the range by taking the smallest number away from the largest number.

I am having trouble figuring out how to play the game with the students. I have never used a Wheel of Fortune format game before. I know that they click on the spinner, but what do they do next? When I click on the space, the correct letter will appear, but I can't figure out how the students select the letter they want to guess with.
It is a cute game, and I am hoping I will be able to use it.

The teacher will know the answer to the puzzle before play begins. The students spin the spinner, guess a letter that they believe is in the puzzle. If they guess correctly, the teacher reveals those letters and the students earn the point value that they landed on for each correct letter. For example, if the kids landed on $200 and guessed the letter r and there were 2 letter r's in the puzzle they would earn $400 for their team. The teams can give up their turn spinning to guess the puzzle at any time. Only the team that correctly guesses the answer banks their money for their team. The other team loses their money and you begin a new puzzle.

Hi there,
I would like to get a vertex-edge graph lesson (or two) for my 4th/5th grade class. Since the students haven't had much exposure to these graphs, would it be worthwhile to get the Vertex Edge Graph 3 lesson as well as the one that just says Vertex Edge Graphs and seems a little more advanced, or should I just go with the more advanced one? They are different from each other, right?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I was out of town. Yes, the Vertex Edge Graph 3 is a more basic lesson and then the Vertex Edge Graphs lesson which I recently renamed to (Vertex Edge Graph Grade 4) is a more difficult lesson. I think you and your students would enjoy them. I tried to make them colorful and fun for the students.

Scott, Just purchased your Daily Math Reviews. Excellent spiraled review! All of the weeks were in PDF format and opened correctly. However, Week 22 is an Excel document and many parts of the sheets were missing. Week 22 is not usable at all. Could you please send it in PDF format?

I have purchased your daily math reviews and am having a bit of trouble with some of the images. Where some images should be it says quicktime and a TIFF (uncompressed) decompressor are needed to see this pictures. I installed quicktime but that does not seem to help. Let me know if you have any sugesstions for me. Thank you!!!

Yes. I have designed the Daily Math Review for my students and I have taught in a title one school for 14 years now. I suggest downloading week 1 or week 19 (free) so you can take a look at them. They will show all of the skills that these sheets work on each week. The skills the practice pages (Mon. - Thurs.) stay the same. The assessment on Friday changes to hit a variety of skills.

I am purchasing the Daily Math Reviews, however, when I open them up after downloading I am viewing a working excel document. How do I get the document to open in normal document view format for my students to view?

I loaded them as an excel spreadsheet so people could make changes if they wanted to edit them. You should be able to print them as a PDF and then view them. Is a program called Smartboard Notebook. All of my lessons were made to work on a smartboard. Software can be downloaded at http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Support/Downloads/default.htm. Version 10.6 comes with a free 30 day trial. An older version 9.5 can be downloaded and will not expire on you. Let me know if I could be of further help!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught for 15 years. Six years ago I received an electronic smartboard. I have since been developing all of my lessons with the smartboard software. I have become very adept at designing lessons and train new teachers how to use the smartboards.
MY TEACHING STYLE
The main focus of our district is student engagement. All of my lessons I design are focused on keeping the students engaged. I use animated clipart, colors, patterns, weblinks, pictures, and videos to make the lessons both interesting and exciting for the kids. I want my students excited to come to school each and every day!!
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
I have won the CCS Curriculum Competition in 2008 and 2009 for grades 4-6 (Arizona competition for designing lesson using smartboard software).
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Arizona State University. I then proceeded to get a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I followed that up by getting another Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I have been happily married for 10 years now. We have 5 wonderful children. Our natural daughter is now 14 years old. We have 4 adopted Korean children ages 6, 4, 3, and 1. I enjoy spending time with all of them and we hope to adopt more.
