Hi again,

I'm not privy to your email address or personal information and there is no way to private message you through TPT. You may email me amy@splashpublications.com and we can communicate that way. I can also provide you with my phone number so we can talk--but I need you to email me first because on this website, this is our only means of communication.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us. If I'm understanding your question correctly, I think the answer is that you can choose to buy multiple licenses for any of our products by clicking on the Buy Multiple Licenses in the top right-hand corner of the page. So if you have, say, 6 teachers who want to use our Westward Expansion Unit, you would click on that button and buy the license for 6 teachers. Did I answer your question?

Let me know...
Thanks!

Hi Melissa,

Yes, we've thought about it--quite a bit! We just think that the price point would have to be too high to make it desirable. Sold separately, they come to over $100. Since you've asked, what do you think a buyer would be willing to pay for all 8 units with audio?? Thanks for letting me use you as a guinea pig! :)

Hi Scott,

The bundle contains all of that--our 2nd Grade CC Language Unit--a file with all of the lessons/activities for the 2nd Grade CC Language Standards, a file with the Posters, and a file with the Daily Practice--there are 4 Practice Cards and one Test (Assessment) for EACH of the 20 Second Grade CC Language Standards.

To get a better idea of the Assessment component, I would suggest downloading the Preview for the Second Grade Daily Practice:

Should the students be allowed to use material read to answer the "after reading" questions/tests?
January 12, 2013 Report inappropriate comment
Splash! Publications
Splash! Publications  (TpT Seller)
Absolutely! The comprehension questions are not tests. They are informational text reading comprehension practice. The goal is for students to look back into the information that they've read--using the sub-headings, maps, vocabulary, and illustrations to answer the questions and draw inferences from the text. This gives them exposure/experience with the kinds of questions that they will see on standardized tests.

I even let my students use their vocabulary cards on the vocabulary quizzes (totally up to you), but if they've done the work of keeping up with and filling out the vocabulary cards on a daily basis, then they may use them on the quizzes. Those who do not have the cards finished must take the quizzes without them.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

Hmm...I don't know how it happened, but the preview that you downloaded was for our Louisiana Purchase Lesson. The wrong file was there. That's CRAZY, and I'm sure it was human error--mine! In the Louisiana Purchase lesson, there IS a persuasive writing assignment that asks students to write a letter to President Jefferson convincing him NOT to buy the Louisiana Territory. I would be happy to send you a copy of this lesson--it will go well with the Louisiana History lesson that you purchased. Hi Amy. Thanks for asking. The lessons can be used in whole groups or centers. In our classrooms, we always read the lesson aloud and discuss with our students and then use the activities as center work.

There are 22 lessons in the First Grade Unit, so we would do the first two lessons completely as a whole group--since the lower level activities in each lesson are repetitive, once your kiddos get the hang of them, they can work on them independently in their centers.

The unit requires them to make a Language Notebook (journal), so they can definitely do this as center work. We use composition books (the black and white ones), but you can also use spiral notebooks so the kids can cut and paste the Language cards in their notebooks and use them for reference. We review their Language cards on a daily basis as part of our morning routine.

I encourage you to download the preview so you can see the complete Table of Contents and Lesson Plans--these will give you a good overview of the unit. Feel free to email me with questions. amy@splashpublications.com

Hello,

Thanks for your question. Our American Revolution Unit starts before the beginning of the war and takes students to the end. There are 9 lessons in the unit. We showed alignment to the 5th grade CC Standards because it is taught most often in 5th grade. That doesn't mean it wouldn't fit into a 7th grade scenario. You can download the preview which has the complete Table of Contents and sample lessons/activities so that you can get a "feel" for the curriculum and see if it is appropriate for your 7th graders:

I am new to fourth grade. I teach in Tennessee, and we have not adopted the common core standards for fourth grade. However; I feel they are better for teaching because of the depth that the standards carry the information. I am about to start the American Revolution and i noticed you a couple of "battle" units and then one that just says American Revolution. Thanks for your question--and you're right, teaching to the Common Core standards will give students a greater depth of knowledge. The answer to your question is yes, the individual American Revolution lessons are included in the American Revolution Unit. If you're looking to teach the entire American Revolution, it's cheaper to do so by purchasing the unit instead of the individual lessons.

Thank you for your question. The original play in Cricket in Times Square has a script with reading parts for the Narrator and all of the main characters. Students can memorize their parts or the script can be used in a Reader's Theater format. I've done it both ways in my classroom--I divide the students into small groups and each group makes its own props and then the group decides how it will deliver the lines. Thanks for your question. The Louisiana History Lesson was originally created in 2003 and was revised in 2010.

Thank you for your response. Yes, that helps! I had printed the packet and do not have a color copier, so I didn't realize that color and black and white were included. I was just concerned that pages were missing because of duplication. Now I understand. Thank you for a great product and taking the time to clarify for me.

Valerie Clark re: Montana History Lesson-Common Core-Audio Included!
I purchased the Montana History Lesson-Core Standards. I was disappointed to see that pages 5-11 were duplicated in pages 12-18. Was this intentional or was there supposed to be other pages there?

Hi Valerie--I'm not sure that I completely understand, so bear with me as I try to answer your question. Included in the packet should have been everything that was listed in the Product Overview for the Montana History lesson--there should be 32 pages--black and white pages of the lesson for making copies for your students (pages 12-18), color pages for use on your Smart/White Board (pages 5-11), Reading Comprehension questions, a Language Skills activity, background information and a graphic organizer for writing a Mountain Man story, a Vocabulary Quiz, a context-appropriate Glossary, and Answer pages. Did you not receive all of those items? Let me know ASAP so I can make it right for you. Thanks! Amy
