Smartboard is a licensed software for Notebook (Smarttech. If your computer does not open it..it is only because you need to download the notebook software in order for your computer to recognize it. If your school has a Smartboard, they more than likely have Notebook software. If you have a Smartboard at your school and would like to create or open apps on your home computer go to the Smarttech website and follow their directions for obtaining their free software. Hope this helps and good luck.
