I have been teaching 4th and 5th grade for more than 20 years. I never get tired of watching students light up with enthusiasm or find success as a result of determination and hard work.
I always tell my students, "Silly is never good, but relaxed is great." In every lesson, our brains have to be able to say two things: "This sounds interesting" and "I think I could understand this if I try." My goal every year is to create a relaxed classroom environment where thinking and understanding are priorities.
