Thanks for your question. I don't know too much about Macs, but I found a discussion page about this at the following link (it's long, and if it doesn't work you might have to cut and paste the several lines into your browser to get there). Evidently there is something on Macs called "quick view" that will allow you to view PowerPoint files, depending on the version of the Mac OS you have.

Finally, you can download some software that works like Microsoft Office but is free. It's at openoffice.org. I believe their version is called Impress.
One completely different method, if you have PowerPoint 2010 at home (or I think 2007 works too), is to open the file, add timings to each slide, and then use "save as" to turn it into a Windows Media file or .avi video file. Then you could play it on your Mac as a video and just pause it when you want to talk about a section longer.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching 4th and 5th grade for more than 20 years. I never get tired of watching students light up with enthusiasm or find success as a result of determination and hard work.

I always tell my students, "Silly is never good, but relaxed is great." In every lesson, our brains have to be able to say two things: "This sounds interesting" and "I think I could understand this if I try."
